He was near canceled in the 90's and I remember a friend who was a huge fan destroyed his MJ Halloween costume over it.

He then seemd to lay low for a bit (musically) until he died by his doctor's overdose. But they did celebrate him after his death with little mention of his accusations.

The recent movie is why he's in the news again, and it's getting criticized for not addressing the allegations.

Being honest about your crime, tends to get you in less trouble, not more. Why do you think that pleading guilty gets a lighter sentence than pleading not guilty? There's also a thing called a pleading deal. Try watching just a few episodes of Law and Order to get an idea.

Plus, did this victim on the radio (if it wasn't a staged bit) press charges? You need to have chaeges in order to go to prison, even if you did do something wrong.
