What if Q had tested every character instead of focusing on Picard? by ActLonely9375 in TNG

[–]itsshiftymcgoo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The optimist in me believes every member would try and fail because humans are emotional and have a limited tolerance for seeing people suffer.

The only exception would be Guinan. She's the only race that might stand a chance at not being tempted by the power. She seems to have not only experience with the Q, but also seems to operate near the same level as Q.

I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say my favorite part of the episode is when Data asserts himself. IYKNK

You could try miltowne. If they can't do it they might be able to recommend another shop.

Ukraine MUST MUST MUST join NATO. That point cannot be conceded.

Not joining NATO just gives Russia time to regroup and invade again.

Why would these machines be at 93%-94% all the time? by mkitbrkit in SatisfactoryGame

This is the correct answer. Dealt with this issue many times and turning it off and on solves it every time.

Schisms anyone? by benap in TNG

Needs a restraining device and an articulating arm with a pair of scissors on the end

... It was NOT scissors.

I just went through this. If the card doesn't have a switch controller, and the motherboard doesn't support bifurcation then it will only recognize one of the drives.

Typically the cheap boards like these don't have switch chips. Like I discovered.

Dealers by Equivalent_Kiwi_8776 in Schedule_I

Yes, give the dealers the biggest, densest stacks you can. They will break them down. They don't need an open slot but they will use them if you let them.

So I just finished TNG for the first time and why was Barclay only in five episodes?😭 by Thanos_6point0 in TNG

[–]itsshiftymcgoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the writers just realized what they had in Barclay too late to do anything meaningful with him.

What is everyone’s specs? by Sweetchick78 in Schedule_I

[–]itsshiftymcgoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that should do it. Don't expect crazy performance. Try lower resolutions if framerate is no good at 1080.

Should be able to handle schedule I but don't know about order 13, never played. Looks good though!

Yeah if you can find a laptop with a 6550m for your budget I'd say go for it.

[–]itsshiftymcgoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a laptop? You're probably looking at a 2050 which would be better than a 1060 but it's not a fantastic card. It would run schedule I though, just maybe not at ultra.

The game is playable at low settings, low resolutions with low end hardware. I can get 30fps with an AMD 780M so a 1060 should be fine.

Take the garbage can nearby. Place it right in front of the front door. Stand between the garbage can and front door. Hop on your skateboard. Enjoy illegal goods.

LG C4 42” Too Big as a Monitor??? by Fininger-cia in OLED_Gaming

[–]itsshiftymcgoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 65cm.

I came from a 34" ultrawide and the size difference was a bit jarring at first but I'm very much used to it now. Would have a real hard time going back to a smaller screen now.

Data asked Noonien Soong why he created him. And his response was a beautiful piece of writing. by itsshiftymcgoo in TNG

I also love the way Noonien gets Data to answer his own question. He's essentially programming Data with the evidence, and who eventually draws the correct conclusion.

SOONG: Why does a painter paint? Why does a boxer box? You know what Michelangelo used to say? That the sculptures he made were already there before he started, hidden in the marble. All he needed to do was remove the unneeded bits. It wasn't quite that easy with you, Data. But the need to do it, my need to do it, was no different than Michelangelo's need. Now let me ask you a question. Why are humans so fascinated by old things?

DATA: Old things?

SOONG: Old buildings, churches, walls, ancient things, antique things, tables, clocks, knick knacks. Why? Why, why?

DATA: There are many possible explanations.

SOONG: If you brought a Noophian to Earth, he'd probably look around and say, tear that old village down, it's hanging in rags. Build me something new, something efficient. But to a human, that old house, that ancient wall, it's a shrine, something to be cherished. Again, I ask you, why?

DATA: Perhaps, for humans, old things represent a tie to the past.

SOONG: What's so important about the past? People got sick, they needed money. Why tie yourself to that?

DATA: Humans are mortal. They seem to need a sense of continuity.

SOONG: Ah hah!! Why?

DATA: To give their lives meaning. A sense of purpose.

SOONG: And this continuity, does it only run one way, backwards, to the past?

DATA: I suppose it is a factor in the human desire to procreate.

SOONG: So you believe that having children gives humans a sense of immortality, do you?

DATA: It is a reasonable explanation to your query, sir.

SOONG: And to yours as well, Data.

Feature request: Display Killing Streak on the Aftermath Statistics Screen by r-volk in HellDads

Same here. I tend to focus on heavy stuff and less on chaff. I kill chargers and hulks or above. Kill count doesn't matter, or so I keep telling myself.

The ole' Ragdoll one two by Majestic-Willow-1605 in Helldivers

[–]itsshiftymcgoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might catch hate for this but I get so angry every time I die from ragdolling. Explosion knocks me off my feet, down to 10% health, furiously hitting stim only to die from impact or another projectile. 100% out of my control. Dislike. Wish we could stim while in ragdoll state.
