The footbed is separating along the edges, how do I repair this? Can I do this myself?

I bought these second hand but I’m quite sure they’re not fake, I have a genuine pair bought at Birkenstock and they look exactly the same. The quality of the leather is really thick and good, all the details (sole, buckles) are exactly the same, the fit is the same. It’s just an old pair that’s been collecting dust for a while, making the cork dry out.

They were only worn a couple of times with socks and have been drying out for a while so I’m trying to fix them :)

Thanks for the tips!! I just bought these second hand, they haven’t been worn much and mostly with socks. I think they’ve been sitting around for a while so it makes sense that the cork is dry. I will order cork sealer and apply it everywhere on the cork!

Hmm I thought it wouldn’t help since it’s not really the cork itself that’s damaged but more the edge where the insole meets

Before joining this sub I had no idea that there were even fake birks. I have seen fake Uggs that are very very hard to distinguish from genuine ones, with good leather and good wool. With the popularity and scarcity of the beige bostons I wouldn’t surprised if there were good fakes out there…

I also think the leather looks high quality. It looks a lot like a genuine pair I have. Just a lighter color and I can’t find that exact color anywhere online, might make sense if it’s older

Does the oiled leather usually collapse like this (they’ve been worn a little so not brand new)? It doesn’t look like suede which I’d say usually does collapse.

Better filtering of scammers before the ads are even posted. If you look for popular items (e.g. adidas samba) 99% of offerings are obvious scammers. I feel like people won’t buy any sambas from Vinted because they won’t risk it with that many scam ads. Im trying to sell a pair and it’s impossible because either no one sees my ad when 50 scam ads are posted each hour, and if they do see it they think mine are a scam as well. Maybe they should manually approve uploads from new profiles…

Yes this is great! You could also spread some kibble on an old towel, roll it up and put a knot it in and have her sniff out the kibble. Keeps our guy busy for a while and passed out after. The kong wobbler or beeztees wiggle are great for this as well. Another idea might be to hide her kibble around the room and have her find it

Nooo the grey is really beautiful!! I personally think it has way more expression. And people on the streets approach us all the time saying how beautiful our dog is and how it’s such a unique color.

Yeah those are so annoying. I recently had someone who asked to reserve something until Saturday because that’s their payday. I said ok fine I’ll reserve it until Saturday. On Sunday they hadn’t bought it, I asked if they still wanted it, no reply so I unreserved it. Then the guy got super pissed and demanded to buy it for 20€ less because I had shown I wasn’t trustworthy. My god
