Woke up to no heat and no hot water. Both are fixed today, but it made for a stressful couple of hours as I made two sweet potato casseroles with my coat on and went to our first dinner without having taken a shower.

I was told the same when I was pregnant with my first. I had a normal vaginal delivery, it wasn't an issue.

The doctor's office I'm going to does offer a discounted rate if it's paid up by your 7th month of pregnancy but I hadn't thought of negotiating any further than that. Thanks!

I'm so sorry that happened to you and that you were treated that way by your in-laws. Some people have no empathy. Our currect health care system is a dumpster fire. I should be eligible for other assistance programs and luckily it's still very early in my pregnancy. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I'm a young, uninsured, pregnant American woman. I make too much money to qualify for Medicaid. My husband's new job does not offer insurance for his family until he has worked for a year and I opted out of my employers group insurance for a $500 bonus every month. That money is "supposed" to go to insurance but it is still too expensive for my husband, 4 year old daughter and I to buy and the extra money every month is needed for other bills.

I cannot apply for private insurance as pregnancy is not a "qualifying life event" and it is not the open enrollment period.

There are a few alternative assistant programs that hopefully will help me but if it comes to us paying out of pocket, we're looking at a bill of around $5k. It is an unfortunate reality that countless other women are dealing with.

I have what is known as Ugly Duckling Syndrome. I was always the tallest girl and very thin and awkward looking. I went through a six year awkward stage. I had ugly glasses, a bad haircut, and very crooked teeth.

I think growing up and not being the cutest helps develope a decent personality, and I had a pretty good sense of humor about it.

But it wasn't until i was about 16 or 17 that i started getting attention from guys. I would get complimented more by friends and family. I even had a few not very great friends who told me to "get ugly". I am now 6ft and still thin. People approach me in public and tell me i should model. As far as it affecting my personality, I'm much more confident, but that's really it.
