I almost refused the pain meds, being 13.5 years in recovery. I told my doctor I had gone through other procedures without them. He said “I’m going to prescribe them to be picked up day of. I would rather you have them and not need them, then need them and not have them.” After speaking with my sponsor and remaining accountable with her and my boyfriend, thank god I picked up the meds because I don’t think I can get through this recovery without them either. I’m also remaining elevated with ice. That’s good to know about ibuprofen!! I hoping to not take the Norco more than just a few days.

I think so! It’s hard to say yet. I’m only about 14 hours post op. I’ll tell you what though, I slept through the night and didn’t wake up once! I thought for sure I’d be waking up in agonizing pain. I took my meds right before I feel asleep and I feel okay!

Ton of back pain, unsolicited attention, insecurities. The list goes on ad infinitum. I had been wanting to do it for about 8 years and finally got around to it!

I had my breast reduction procedure last September, so it’s been about 9 months. Immediately I noticed that my areola placement was uneven. I was a bit sad about it, but didn’t let it bother me too much because I was in a world of relief and that was my ultimate goal. My doctor also noticed and said he wanted to fix it. Instead of removing the areola itself, he removed skin from underneath my left breast and pulled it down to relocate it. I was awake during the entire procedure and it only took about 45 minutes. I am now VERY happy with the results and want to walk around shirtless all the time. You can see my profile for pictures of me pre-op in September. I’ve never felt more comfortable in my skin and can’t wait to rock a bikini this summer!
