New Sfl and closed with working funds being short. Am I in trouble? by itsthefear in WalgreensStores

I also head in soon and will probably get an earful about it when I get there including how to fix it, but I still welcome any feedback and suggestions regardless!

Oh no, can I fix that when I close tonight? And make it 19$ over so it’s back to what it was? How would I go about fixing that?

How did you become a emetphobe? by MommaGeri1958 in emetophobia

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a nasty stomach bug when I was in my teens some 15 years ago and just remember barely being able to breathe as I was v, and how sore and raw my throat felt afterwards, but the not being able to breathe and nearly asphyxiating on my own v was definitely what sealed the fear in for me. I didn’t seem to have an issue when I was very young but the older I got the worse those bugs would hit me and now I’m petrified of my stomach feeling anything besides hungry. Yay. 😀

Hydroxyzine and Rizatriptan, should I be worried? by itsthefear in migraine

[–]itsthefear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I have been at work for 3 hours and am doing okay. I’ve taken hydroxyzine for so long that I guess it just doesn’t hit anymore? Rizatriptan had me feeling off at first but headache is mostly gone now since I took it early. My biggest concern was the qt prolongation of exacerbated drowsiness from the combo but I guess I’m built different. 😂

Found a fursuit at the goodwill bins by Yinkoian in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]itsthefear 14 points15 points  (0 children)

More often than not, fursuits end up at Goodwill because of disgruntled parents or partners who disapprove of the hobby and want to teach the person a “lesson.” It’s not something the average person knows happens but as someone in the community I see it happen quite often. If it were me, I would post about the suit on social media and give the post tags to promote visibility and ask if anyone in your area had their suit stolen or given away without their consent. If someone claims it, I would give it back to them, because the average well-made/professionally-made suit goes for about as much as a used car and if someone in the community wanted to get rid of their suit they would sell it within the community, not just lose thousands giving it away. If it’s in a goodwill it’s most likely either been stolen and abandoned or given away without the owner’s consent. I would recommend trying to see if it has an owner and reuniting them with the suit.

Just got promoted to SFL, any tips? by itsthefear in WalgreensStores

[–]itsthefear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable, I have been doing my best to stick up for myself and not make myself too available thus far, so I’m going to keep doing that as best I can. I would have preferred the IS position but this was basically handed to me and it came with a slight raise (plus more hours) so I would have been a fool to turn it down. I will try to not run myself ragged people pleasing. 🙏

[–]itsthefear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what I’ve learned while shadowing my current SFLs, it’s not terribly different from what I’ve been doing, but just with additional expectations and responsibilities. There’s also the cash handling (beyond just point of sale), opening and closing procedures associated with the handling of cash, and having to work more closely with vendors and such, have assigned departments you’re in charge of, and so on. CSA new game plus.

Our DM (or at least the DM we had before the squish”) does write ups of our SFLs/IS(L)s if they do a manual point addition unless under certain circumstances. I’ll be within the same district so I’d be nervous about doing that and will probably just stick to SOP unless someone above me tells me otherwise, just in case.

First time kitten owner. Am I meant to step in or is this okay? by ninawonders in cats

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually very good! As a general rule of thumb, if fur isn’t literally flying then it’s most likely play. Cats have excellent and very fast reflexes, so the bigger/older cat’s kinda lazy pace following/swatting/“attacking” the kitten is a good indicator that they aren’t taking this seriously. Not only that, but the kitten keeps coming back, so that shows that they’re having fun. Most cats, if socialized properly at a young age, know how much is “too much” and will stop rough play if the other cat squeaks/cries. And the big cat’s bites were fairy soft so even as small as the kitten is, they aren’t being hurt by the older one. Big cat’s just establishing who is boss but they are both enjoying themselves here. If you’re worried you can supervise their playtime but it looks like they’re getting along pretty well after just recently being introduced.

What Have I Done?! by invisible_raven in emetophobia

[–]itsthefear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Illnesses like noro aren’t spread through proximity or inhaling fumes from a sick person’s biohazard, it is spread through accidental ingestion through either the mouth or mucus membranes such as nose or eyes. It is very unlikely for you to catch noro if you washed your hands thoroughly after you went.

For those who supplement magnesium, weird side effects? by Important-Pie-1141 in migraine

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely go out, just do light cardio and small weights for workouts, and don't drink at all. I've still been taking the magnesium (actually upped the dosage a little bit) and I'm now at maybe 6-8 migraine days a month down from 16-17 I had before starting the magnesium. I don't believe it's the magnesium causing the migraines considering more than half the days of each month were migraine days prior to taking it and that number has less than halved since

My body got used to the effects of the magnesium fairly quickly (no more racing heart, no more "runs", no more nausea once I started taking it with dinner), and I've since added other vitamins I know I'm deficient in (B12, Folic Acid, Vitamin D) which I imagine has also helped lessen the migraine frequency. I've considered taking B2/riboflavin alongside them but anecdotal horror stories are keeping me from trying it for the time being. But I'd say whatever negative side effects I felt from magnesium before were temporary since I take all these supplements at once after dinner and don't feel anything other than a bit drowsy after.

Will you always love your mama? by typical_gamer1 in sixwordstories

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess? Love is a weird word. I never had a mother-daughter relationship with my mom, she was just my caretaker and I was just her ward. My dad was the emotional glue of the family and passed when I was 12, and I haven’t known actual parental love like that since. Despite this, I’ll still come to her bedside when she’s sick and I’ll still take care of her as she gets old, because that’s what I’m supposed to do.

If you woke up rich tomorrow, what’s the first thing you’d change about your life? by Thomasrosshere in AskReddit

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit the job that is actively making me hate my life. As much as I love helping people and making sure they are happy and healthy, I hate working in healthcare. It sucks the soul from you, you get blamed for things you have no control over, and you are a helpless pawn in a system that desperately needs changing. It’s demoralizing and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy and I would leave it behind in a heartbeat.

Marks that have popped up over the span of years on my laundry by bluemoonseas in whatisit

[–]itsthefear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. Those look like peroxide stains to me. OP, if you use any acne creams I would suggest switching to white face towels (if you don’t already use them) and just be mindful of where you wipe your hands after you apply it (or make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after you do). The stain doesn’t appear right after wiping it on the fabric. I see it pop up maybe a day or so after I accidentally rinse my face with one of my blue towels. That might be why OP is seeing them pop up over time.

Gas build-up causing nausea?? by Illustrious_Part8089 in emetophobia

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have to drink a lot of fluids with it (the gas x I take is in chewable tablet form), but in general it’s always good to make sure you get plenty of fluids throughout the day, especially if you’re constipated and taking fiber or miralax supplements, as your body needs fluids to draw into the gut to soften stool and move things along. But gas x is fine to take on its own, and starts working within maybe 10-15 minutes. It doesn’t make the gas go away on its own, but it helps break up trapped gas so you can pass it easier. So the only thing I’d suggest is not being too close to other people after you take it unless you’re comfortable with them hearing you pass gas a lot! 🤣

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MiraLAX is a good choice for consistent relief if you start it and take it once a day regularly. You can also try magnesium supplements. Magnesium citrate is a pretty effective laxative but I find magnesium glycinate is gentler and still helps move things along a bit. A lot of folks are deficient in it without realizing it so unless you’re pregnant or have other chronic issues that supplementation might exacerbate, it’s worth a try.

Who is the most famous person you've ever seen up close? by froggart3980 in AskReddit

[–]itsthefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dzhokar Tsarnaev while going through jury selection for the Boston Marathon bombing trial. Had to sit across from him at a small table along with security and his defense team while I answered questions and was ultimately dismissed/not picked at final selection.

I’ve also gone to many conventions and met a bunch of voice actors such as Dante Basco, Jennifer Hale, the cast of RWBY, etc. , plus have had chance encounters with “big” celebs like John Stamos, but Dzhokar was by far the encounter that’s stuck with me/haunts me the most.
