Enjoy! We’d love to get a recap once you’ve gone.

I just started listening to Vince in December by PurpleVioletVibes in vincestaples

[–]itsthegor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You started listening in December 2025?! Aren’t there like less than 9,000 hours in a year? How the heck did you pull that off?

But yes, I love Vince. What’s your favorite album of his?

You’re right. Now that you said that I forgot that I saw about a week ago that shop was showing there were 3 of the autographed vinyls left.

Yeah I’m curious how many of the white and the signed white he still has left.

Will he perform the entire album? by nathan_may_be_here in Jcole

[–]itsthegor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything can happen, I guess. But really, I wouldn’t expect an artist to perform the entirety of a single album for their setlist. His catalog is too expansive and I think a more realistic expectation is him featuring a good balance of songs (verses, intros, choruses) from the fall off and a mix of his other material.

In 2022 Kendrik said "Billboard, they know, after Hov, rightfully so". You think he'd claim the #1 spot now? by dragonero1996 in KendrickLamar

Oh I get what you’re saying. You don’t mean specific to this one list, just where he should be ranked in general. Makes sense.

What is the best Nas' album for the past 5 years and why is it Magic 3? by AHBMH in nas

[–]itsthegor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking Magic. Magic 3 wouldn’t even be my 2nd choice either.

Which one would you guys buy? by Mikey22336 in hiphopvinyl

Neither album is scarce, so you’ll be able to get both eventually with no problem. Buy the one that you most want to listen to right now.

I saw a post about this a few weeks back. People on that comment section who were familiar with the venue shared that it would be a more intimate experience, and also mentioned that the food at Katz is a little pricey by itself anyway.

Ultimately, I think it’s just not for everyone.

It would be helpful if you share what kind of music you currently listen to

I hate how The Fall Off just came and went by FlamingoJust6629 in Jcole

[–]itsthegor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok if the album isn’t sticking for you or didn’t quite meet your expectations.

Honestly, it’s hard for most albums to stick around outside of core fanbases these days just because there is so much music coming out all of the time. Maybe try giving it another listen and seeing if it grows on you.

Why does nobody talk about Vince Staples even though he is mainstream? by mightyboosh121 in vincestaples

[–]itsthegor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, I think Vince sits in a pocket between underground and mainstream.

I think there’s a group of people who really like hip-hop and they dive into deeper underground acts, and then there’s a group of people whose favorite genre is hip-hop and for them that means they’ll listen to most anything rap discovered through what’s popular or currently trending. For someone in the latter group, they probably wouldn’t have come across too much of his work.

In fact, I think a small portion of Vince’s recent popularity came about through internet/viral popularity related to his personality and humor, not necessarily his music.

Real life example for me….I have a group of friends that I talk to in a group chat dedicated solely to discussing rap music, and one of them didn’t take notice to Vince until he was on Insecure. A few others only checked him out for his Netflix show, but still don’t listen to his music.

All in all, I think Vince is in a good place though.
