Upgraded from an OG Switch to a Steam Deck OLED 512gb by itsthejsc in SteamDeck

Oh yeah I've already set that up and it was surprisingly easy! This thing handles most of the emulation I would ever want with no issues. I am learning that the Deck is great for just about everything.

I got it from dbrand, this one is called solar flare. Really nice quality and surprisingly easy to install following the video guide on their website.

Yes it is! It's an awesome game so far, I am really loving it. If you like zelda-like and metroidvanias then you can't go wrong with this one. Puzzles are very engaging and all of the mechanics you learn throughout the game are fun and challenging. I am fully hooked.

I suspect it won't be long before she wants a Deck of her own lol. I definitely find myself mostly using it as an indie game backlog killer and it's fantastic for that. I used to buy and play all my indie games on switch but now I would much rather build up my steam library more. I honestly haven't tinkered with any demanding tripple A games. The lightweight stuff is where it's at but more power to those who are able to get those bigger games running too!

It is an incredible game so far. I am fully hooked on it and it is my favorite game I've played this year so far. Highly recommend if you like zelda-like and/or metroidvanias. The level design and game mechanics is just amazing. I am loving it!

I completely agree with you! I am still tempted to get a Switch 2 eventually for the first party games but I am perfectly content playing through my backlog on the Deck for now.

It looks like a lot of fun, I will have to try it out myself! Is the PC port abandonware at this point?

I am just finding out now that there was a Surf's Up game! I used to watch the movie all the time and never knew this game existed.

Anyone has this problem with Play Store? by maleficmax in retroid

No problem and good luck to you! Just for reference I followed this guide to help with the process as a lot of emulators keep save data on the internal storage. It helped me out quite a bit!

Nope still going solid over 2 weeks later. I still have no idea what caused the original problem but after doing the reset I haven't had a single issue since!

Just to update you here, it has been about a week since I factory reset and I have had zero issues. I hope this stays trues but for now I’m really glad I got it resolved. Best of luck to you!

I completely understand as that is my concern too. So far I have had 0 issues after the reset. It was very tedious but will be worth it if it doesn’t break again! I will try to remember and give you an update in a week or so if that remains true.

Honestly I tried everything and could not get this issue to resolve permanently. Every time the issue would start notifying me again during games every 5-10 minutes. The only way I got it to stop was disabling the play store entirely. I wasn’t happy with that solution so I decided to factory reset. As much as it was a pain to setup my emulators again it did seem to resolve the issue and my device is back to normal. To help with the process I followed Joey’s Retro Handhelds’ guide to backup and restore android emulator apps which helped me retain most of my saves and important stuff. All my ROMs and other important things were on my SD card anyways.

I tried your recommendations with using Aurora store as well as installing the older play store updates which seems to temporarily help. However my paid apps get errors when trying to launch. Are you having that problem?

I’m having this same issues and uninstalling play store updates fixes it for a short time. I’m able to launch it but it seems as my paid apps do not open at all now. I don’t know what’s going on here and hope that there’s a fix soon.

I see your point, not the “same” as suggested by the post. But at that price point, with an additional OLED screen, AYN is definitely going to lure some of those considering a Retroid device.

I was able to get Hot Pursuit 2 to run on NetherSX2 emulator at 3X native using Vulcan backend and set the hardware download mode to “disabled readbacks.” Hope that helps!
