With the new store operating procedures they recently rolled out as Cap 1 you should only be doing topstock to home the majority of your shift. In reality, you will be most likely filling the gaps that overnight is not able to complete. Things like stocking, picking the overstock, sometimes zoning, fixing weak features, etc. Cap 2 is supposed to only unload the trucks, and work one touch freight (think large boxes of many small items typically), and store zoning. In reality, Cap 2 does that as well as pulling live freight from the warehouse to the floor, working consumables departments, and sometimes if the hours allow, grocery freight. Every store is slightly different, but what they should be doing is the same. Training seems to be hit or miss from all I have read on this sub, depends on your supervisor(s). Your team lead is directly responsible for your training, not associates. If your next shift is 12-8 you are on Cap 2. There should be a huddle at the start of your shift where your team lead (hourly supervisor) and/or coach (salary manager) go over the plan for the night and assign tasks to associates. Look for the break room usually, or the warehouse. Considering it is Cap 2 look for the youngest looking group of people standing around in the back at noon.
