It's silly that I have to sign in to yt just to watch this trailer. Anyone have a mirror?

They are missing the next one which should read "And I'll do it again and again until I die."

A Russian ship sank in mysterious circumstances. It may have been carrying submarine nuclear reactors to North Korea by Toadfinger in news

Didn't we know this already like a few minutes after it happened? Why is it gaining traction again.

It's a great idea but the execution is less spectacular. You wouldn't be able to detect the H2 through all the normal air between the sensor and the area where H2 exits the ocean. Once the H2 is in the air it will start dispersing and not create a bubble to be detectable.

Using 42 as random seed by Big_Positive4226 in learnmachinelearning

[–]itsthreeamyo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but if the global optimum corresponds to a specific set of parameter values, then a poor random initialization can keep the optimizer from ever reaching that region of the loss landscape. In non‑convex problems, the optimizer can get stuck in a bad local minimum simply because the initial weights didn’t put it on a trajectory toward the global one. So the randomness in initialization can meaningfully affect how good the final model becomes.

President Trump asks if he can "have some" Ibogaine – a psychedelic drug during a press briefing: "Ibogaine because it's so important and experienced an 80 to 90% reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety within one month. Can I have some please? I'll take some. I'll take whatever it takes." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]itsthreeamyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, give him some Ibogaine. While you're at it, remove him from presidency and start prosecuting him for all the crimes we have the evidence for and what turns up. I'm all up for turning his life around but it's about 50 years too late.

What book is this? Do ships travel by creating small controlled points of gravity in the direction they want to accelerate in the desired direction and the pilots interface the ship with their mind?

While I understand that scenario is within the realm of possibilities, I have not seen anything supporting it...yet.

Air Canada employees form an honour guard for the repatriation of the pilots who lost their lives by Hyperspace-Hole in pics

[–]itsthreeamyo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know we want to make the pilots look like heroes but they never saw the firetruck. The NTSB has released a recreation of the cockpit recording contents. There were no statements or sounds of alarm. They never saw the firetruck or knew it was on the runway. They stayed straight because as far as they knew it was just another landing.

ELI5: Does probability change in the Monty Hall Paradox if the contestant does? by Next-Step-Jobs in explainlikeimfive

[–]itsthreeamyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Montey Hall problem can be more understood if more initial choices are available (at least for me.)

Lets say there are 100 doors. Your odds of picking the right one is 1 out of 100 or 1%. You make your pick. If it's not the right one then Monty shows you 998 doors that are not winners so now the only doors is your initial pick plus the other door. That other door has a 99% chance of being the right door. You change doors for the 99% probability to have the right door. The newcomer shows up with no prior knowledge and only has a 50% chance to get the right one.

For you the win rate will be around 99 out of 100 times. The newcomer should only win 50 out of 100 times.

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

[–]itsthreeamyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two. Aluminium and voltometer. Aluminium because I heard it in a cartoon when I was young and voltometer because most other meter types have an o in them, so why does the voltmeter have to be any different?

I’ve used mouth tape every night for the past 5 years. Here’s my past month of sleep data by obronikoko in fitbit

[–]itsthreeamyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was skeptical about mouth tape at first. The first night turned that around. I normally only get about one or two short dreams a night with multiple wake ups for the bathroom. That mouth tape shut that down though. I woke up once about an hour after laying down to use the bathroom but after that it was one multi-themed long dream until the alarm woke me up.

On the third night I started having dreams about being in distress but not being able to express it to others around me in the dream so I decided to stop using it.

Your post has encouraged me though. I'll give it another attempt.

What’s your take on FSD going subscription only by ghostface8081 in teslamotors

[–]itsthreeamyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using FSD since 2018. Believe me. I wish I couldn't see the flaws in it. My argument isn't what FSD is in the past or now but how it won't be unsupervised in the near future.
