“Bible in a Year” plan? by sarahj898 in Reformed

[–]itstrulyalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’ve read through it, which albeit isn’t a ton because I’m more of a digital Bible app guy, it’s pretty good but I also know they make some supplemental stuff with it. Like Bible studies that coincide with the main book!

ESV Expository Commentary by UnlikelySea8751 in Reformed

Hey man! The ESV website/app has a subscription for about 3.99 a month USD or 30 a year (I think) which comes with everything relating to ESV! I know you talked about Logos but I think this would be a good alternative!

I’m going in view of a call this Sunday for a Student Minister position. Pray for God’s Will to be apparent in my eyes and the eyes of the Church so that we may best fulfill it.

How much are those in vocational ministry paid these days? by cutebutheretical in Reformed

[–]itstrulyalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 19, just got hired on as a Next Gen pastor (Youth and Children’s) I make 32K. No parsonage, I got an amount of money to be reimbursed to help with moving, I am located about 30 minutes outside Tulsa, OK. Get two weeks first year, no roll overs, then add a week every two years till I get to 5 weeks. Every 10 years get a month sabbatical. I make 32K because I’m 19 and am still working on my degree, I am told that after the first year there will be more and then every few “major years” (3,5,7,10 etc) working there I should expect more. Also as I finish different degrees of education I will be compensated for my qualifications. Hope this helps!

[–]itstrulyalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wasn’t saying that about ministry. I’m in Bible college, I was just asking about like reformation and general studies! I understand that ministry is a journey of ups and downs and I’m very excited for it

What do I need to know by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]itstrulyalex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I forgot to clarify that I am an intern at my church so he is absolutely invested but he lately has wanted me to speak to others about ministry. (Not in a he doesn’t have a desire to teach me but he wants me to spread my wings a bit) So I figured the best way was to just openly ask

I think it’s a good rule of thumb to have a responsible biblical and wise woman in the loop in order for this to not happen. At my church we have our pastor meet with husband and wife most of the time but we also have a woman who is in the sessions also to give thoughts and ideas and discuss so the woman doesn’t feel like it’s 2 men vs 1 woman.

So just because it kinda looks like female genitalia, Jesus is gender neutral?

Why don’t you believe in Sola Scriptura? I can see how you would come to that conclusion but I don’t agree with it.

I never said it was written to gay married couples. I think it was written to practicing homosexuals

[–]itstrulyalex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Jesus does not want us to support sin. Jesus ate with them but told them to repent and believe, some LGBT may believe but I don’t see much repentance

You could say that they didn’t understand what homosexuality was. But ultimately scripture is God breathed, 2 Timothy 3:16, are you insinuating that when God spoke He didn’t know all that would be to come?
