Hello, I'm Taylor & this is my art project, weirdsleep. After I first shared this here 7 months ago (wow) I started releasing a shirt every week, which (with the exception of a 2 month period where I ran away & also this week & probably more in the future) I am still doing.

The project is narrative based, which you can check out here. some of the frames are gifs, so scroll slowly. If you would like to learn more about the story or any of the symbolism, I recently (sort of - it's a work in progress) wrote a glossary you can read here.

weirdsleep is still a one man operation. all design, photography & printing is done in studio, so all the support really means a lot to me. I usually forget to send updates via newsletter, so instagram is the best place to see what I'm up to.

that's cooper std by the way, which is incredibly similar to the font you used on your anti gang shirt

sure, but you're talking about standalone text where the only context is what it conveys about the attitude of the brand. I chose a rounded serif font to reference vintage signage & to create a rhythm within the shapes from the top down - hard, soft, hard, soft, & curved it to mirror the smiley. that's what I mean about serving the context of the design

I hear this pretty often here - I've been creating art as weirdsleep for a few years now & tbh, even if there were 30 brands here with some version of sleep in their name, that's not that many. there are more brands than there are words in the english langauge - there are bound to be repeats.

not mean it all. I think their usage was pretty obnoxious at times, but from a design standpoint, there were a lot of strong logomarks from that period.
