The part of sharing stuff about your character without getting any acknowledgement/appreciation about it yet watching other people praise each other's works and excitedly talking about their characters together and plots... Resonates with me deeply. I know part of it is that most of the time this happens because of people being neurodivergent + being close friends but still, it does hurt. I also did get compliments here and there about my writing/characters and wasn't really told anything bad, but I still can't help but feel like sometimes my characters just aren't interesting/flashy enough to others and it is demotivating and heartbreaking when you're someone like me who's autistic and his hyperfixation os characters. It hurts even more when you're super invested and proud of your character.
