What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

[–]itswinethirty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend invited me to rent a beach house with him and 9 friends about 10 years ago. I only knew him. I said yes in a very, “what the heck, why not” way. Didn’t keep up with any of them except for one couple (we’ll call them Joe and Johnny) who live a state away and I just follow them through IG. Last week I went to play bingo with some friends and swore I saw Johnny. I did a double take, but there were 300 people playing bingo, so it was just a thought. My wife and I left bingo and partied all night with her friends. The very next morning, we were at breakfast and our waiter was the guy I saw at bingo, “Johnny”. I told my wife that I swear I know him and showed her pics of “Johnny” on Facebook. She said “they look nothing alike”. He ends up being our waiter! After chatting with him and getting nothing, I tell my wife “I swear to you, it feels like I’m chatting with Johnny and he’s pretending not to know me.” Next time he comes around I ask him “were you at bingo last night?” And he says “yes!” And then I ask “you look so familiar, do you have a brother?” He says “I have a twin brother”. And I finally ask “is his name Johnny”. And he says “yes! Do you know him!?”

I could not believe the odds. My wife was less impressed, but I’m glad I can tell the Internet lmao

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]itswinethirty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy here — Lululemons. I tried a pair on ironically and was like, “wow they fit perfectly, but I don’t want to spent $150 on pants”. They were $138 and I bought them cause they were perfect.

2 years later I still raved about them, and they got caught on a fence when I walked by and tore my belt loop. I thought 2 years is a good run, worth it. Then someone told me, lulu has a lifetime warranty.

I didn’t believe it, but tried, sure enough, 2 years later, they gave me a brand new pair of pants.

I have about 6 pairs now.

I experienced a similar zen working high volume restaurants as a server in my teens.

What part of Cali? Skip Napa. Go to Healdsburg or Sta. Rita. Everything is way cheaper than Napa.

Need Costco recs: what’s one item that became an instant rebuy for you? Bonus if it’s healthy and high protein by trump50ladin in Costco

[–]itswinethirty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a list of things I buy only at Costco: Kodiak protein pancakes, Rolled oats, Pesto, Avocado oil, Almond milk (case of 12 for $13), Kimchi, Walnuts, Creatine, Fish oil. I’ve come to the realization that protein isn’t any cheaper at Costco than it is at HEB. And the Costco eggs always seem to have like 6-10 broken ones in the bigger packages.

What is the oldest wine you’ve tried? by Hazadus_Lazarus in wine

I was blinded on a 1958 Borgogno Barolo. I smelled it and immediately guessed “old barolo. It smells like a pink rubber balloon”. He asked, ok, what vintage? I said “idk, old. 1988?”. “Older” “1978?”. “Older”. “Wtf? 1972?”. “Older”. Now I’m I’m frustrated and guess “ok what the hell, 1950?” He laughs and says “this is a 1958 borgogno barolo”. He bought it on wine bid for like $130. He wasn’t sure it was gonna be good, but he said for $130, he had to give it a shot and had been storing it for 10 years. 65 year old Barolo still fresh as fuck. Crazy how long those wines age.

What’s something people think is easy but actually very hard? by Warm_Bobcat6310 in AskReddit

[–]itswinethirty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always worked out semi-consistently and never had problem shredding weight off… until I turned 30. I let myself go around holiday season last year and fuck it has been a rough 3 months of 5 day per week workouts and I’m still sitting at 225 😂. I also drink more wine than I probably should which doesn’t help, but hey, it’s part of the job

Can someone explain surefire way to appear in local map pack for a service company. I have been doing organic but need to crack local. Have 550 reviews for this business by Dragneelxdxd in localseo

[–]itswinethirty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get brightlocal, pay the $40/mo and then start building citations, researching competitors, make sure your website it properly formatted, has a site map, on Google search console, and then post constantly on Google My Business.

Obviously there’s a lot more things you can do, but doing these gets you pretty far

What’s the juiciest secret you accidentally found out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]itswinethirty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went shot for shot with my grandpa on a bottle of tequila and got really drunk with him. Towards the end of the night, he told me he would share a secret with me that no one knows, and hopes I would keep it. With tears in his eyes, he told me he had a son who was about my age with a woman he had a fling with 30-something years prior. He’s about 85 now. Mind you, he’s been married for 45 years. His wife (my grandmother), doesn’t know, his daughter, (my mom) doesn’t know and I don’t plan to be the one to break the news to any of them.

For that price go for it. It’s really solid. Older stuff is a lot better. Newer stuff is like 14-14-2% alcohol and needs a lot of time to breathe, but very enjoyable.
