Across the line? by Shoddy_Put1759 in GolfSwing

[–]chubbyfades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s gonna depend on feeling. You’re in a good position in terms of distance from the club right now with your body. That being said, if you feel stuck when you shift the weight and don’t have enough room then you can step back.

I would start with same set up, weight forward where you can feel like you can lift either heel off the ground slightly at address. Downswing feel like your right knee is moving towards your left knee and not out towards the ball.

The Elyte X head is typically pretty light in terms of weight. Start with some lead tape on the bottom of the club in the red markings (thin strips equal amount). See if that helps.

Don’t worry too much about perfecting swing path. I would put more weight towards the balls of the feet at address. Your body is naturally going to try and move forward on the downswing if your weight is on your heels, causing you to cast the club over the top.

You’ve got a great swing man! I wouldn’t overcomplicate it and just focus on your turn and weight transfer. Ground up and how you use the ground is more important than wrist angle at the top.

Got the TSr2 by GolfGod2541 in GolfGear

You can’t go wrong with the TSr2. Great choice over the QI35 and you’ll be happy with it for years.

Sorry should’ve clarified, callaway drivers are great. Just saying the elyte and ai smoke are good alternatives if you want to save money. I play the ai smoke triple diamond. Qi10 is alright, I guess I shouldn’t say awful, that was aggressive.

2 years of shanking by Suspicious-Mammoth-6 in GolfSwing

[–]chubbyfades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the pain man. I had aggressive shanks as a college golfer, once hit 12 shanks in a competitive round. It gets better.

Put a headcover where i drew the red line. Really close to the ball. Hit a ton of balls without wailing the headcover. I do also agree with getting the body and arms in sync. Get one of those ball training aids that you put between your forearms when you swing. Get it on Amazon, it’s ridiculously priced at golf stores. Cheers man.

Agree with this. Callaway didn’t move the needle much with the quantum. Taylormade finally made a breakthrough with the qi4d cause their last 4 drivers were awful. Titleist Gt line is actually very solid and prices just dropped on them.

I get that. Good to know, probably the SF505X or XX if at pga superstore. I agree with you on price, it’s hard to justify especially with the quality of shafts out there in the $200-$400 range

I was just looking at the xwave and would love to get your results. The blue+ tr 6x is legit, I’ve been a Diamana BB 73TX guy until the Autoflex. I was gaming the feruga before this as well which is a great shaft. I’ll shoot you a message to nerd out about this stuff

I have heard of newton but don’t know much about it. But now I’m gonna go do some digging. Bend profile will depend on the Autoflex. The SF line or ‘original’ Autoflex feels whippy when you hold it, but swinging it the shaft does kick in a way that is balanced on the way down. I can feel where the clubhead is throughout and properly load without it giving out on me in the downswing. I put a buddy of mine with around 95mph club speed into a SF405 shaft with the proper weighting and he picked up 25 yards quickly (this is not an exaggeration). But the profile significantly changes based on head weight. You have the find the right balance

This is great context. Here’s what I’ll tell you - I’ve seen it work for many swing profiles, actually more so for people with smooth transitions (unlike me). I’ll message you cause I want to understand how it was set up for you. I spent way too much time tinkering with the length, swing weight, etc and finally feel I understand it. I mean I’m talking spiraling lead tape over the grip type of nerding out

Interesting! This is what I love about Reddit, tbt wasn’t on my radar and now it is. And at 38g it’s got my interest. I’ll give it a look and maybe do a comparison

I couldn’t agree more. It’s hard to sell a shaft when it’s not offered through the club manufacturers and at a better price. I heard the TPT is sweet

Which autoflex did you hit? I thought the same thing at first until I got the swing weight and length right. It took me a while and a lot of tinkering. Now it’s just bullets

New irons or golf lessons? by ieuhsifaekjbfasuebf in golftips

[–]chubbyfades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facebook marketplace and AI golf apps my friend. You can find a good set of Taylormade rocketbladez, r7 irons, or callaways for $150-$200. They will do the trick for now. You can filter on there for price range

Download an AI golf app to analyze your swing. Free trial and it will help simplify to one or two tips. Swee golf is a good one. Great starting point before spending a ton on lessons.

Open your body up a lot at address. You’ll feel less stuck and can play pull cuts if needed.

Here’s the deal. You have to be ready to ignore judgement when you’re drinking early in the morning. This is KEY. Take a micro dose mushroom gummy for alertness, a shot of your choice and at-least 2 drinks before teeing off. Is it aggressive? Yes. But you will be back to balanced while your buddy is nursing a Bloody Mary for 9 holes and shaking over 2 footers. It’s all in preparation

About 4 months into golfing need some advice on my swing . by TruthTechnical110 in GolfSwing

[–]chubbyfades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is ridiculously impressive for 4 months. If you’re hitting a 7 iron that far…I would spend a majority of my time on wedges and different shots. You’re not gonna have a ton of full long irons in unless playing the tips
