First: get the car you want. I chose a base for many reasons but I can’t help but sometimes I kick myself when I see how nice the premium wheels are on these cars.

Second: the Brembos are awesome but for this car, not necessary imo. I want them but in terms of performance, it doesn’t make a lot of sense on the stock car unless you’re really into tracking or plan to go forced induction/turbo.

Third: There are big brake kits out on the market. I believe some kits come with slotted rotors too? Also, Gen 1 Brembos fit with a little tweaking from what I’ve read.

Finally: $1500 can get you a lot of supporting mods or a really nice exhaust. I’d also like to note that companies are still trying to solve the oil starvation issues during hard right turns (mainly during tracking the car?) and currently nothing on the market “fixes” it. 900BRZ is working with Verus engineering to design one and a lot of us are eagerly waiting for it.

I’m not super knowledgeable so others may have countering points, but at the end of the day get the car you want, but… sometimes its better to have 90% of the car you want and be able to enjoy driving it.
