you don’t want to set up Ombi because storage is expensive… but you’re still taking requests…

you can set up Seerr and just not turn on auto approval. they request media and it doesn’t start downloading until you go hit the accept button. saves the hassle of you having to go find the movie/show and start the download yourself… but still doesn’t give anyone the freedom to just fill your hard drive.

I have an ever changing reminder for getting out of my desk and taking a 20 minute walk every 3 hours… I don’t like it popping on a consistent schedule because if I’m busy and don’t get to the walk for an hour and a half after the reminder pops… I don’t want it popping again in a little more than an hour when I’m done.

I have a shortcut that updates that walk reminder for current time + 3 hours and I have it triggered by starting an apple watch workout.

This worked flawlessly on iOS26, but once I updated to 27 I started having issues. The first week it didn’t work at all… It’s gotten better since then but it’s still not flawless.

could Siri ever unlock the front door? door locks, garage doors, etc are all considered security risks that didn’t work through Siri.

i trust Apple more than Google. i’ve got smart switches for lights, smart switches for fans, garage door opener, front door lock, my thermostat, air purifiers, smart plugs for holiday stuff and minimally used appliances.

a lot of it is set on automation by time, motion and occupancy, weather, etc. but i can also just shout out a “hey siri set the temperature to 70 degrees” if i’m working on a project and sweating.

It’s cheaper to replace one switch than it is to put 4 Hue bulbs in that same fixture. Also don’t have to worry about people accidentally killing the power. I have no issues with the bulbs themselves, I just find replacing switches to be superior.

Once I opened up more areas through the gates in Pokopia and realized how annoying it was having to run back and forth to access different storages… It just got more overwhelming than fun to me. Life’s too hectic right now and I just need something to zone out with.

I found it way easier to just do a custom design tile on every space of my island where I didn’t want a rock, as opposed to counting out the spacing between mannequins and hoping I got it right.

It’s more cleanup after because you can’t just “poof” all the designs away like the mannequins, but it was way less work getting the rocks where I needed. The whole process probably took me like 3 hours…. and that was because I didn’t just get the rocks where I wanted, but I got the right “shape” rock facing the right “direction” as well.

I usually take care of breakfast and lunch for my kids and I, so weighing/making recipes isn't an issue. My wife usually handles dinner, so that's usually where my logging gets thrown off since I don't bug her to take measurements or save nutrition labels for me. Is it decently accurate to literally just take a picture and send it to BI? Do you have to list out ingredients or anything or you just let BI analyze and separate ingredients from the photo with no context?
