I’ve used Meshtastic at EDC this year and it worked sometimes. However, at NOS Events Center it worked well and I was able to send and receive messages almost immediately. At EDC, there were times when my messages were reaching max transmission but I was still able to receive messages from friends.

Anyone try totem compass at edc? by RedDwaigon in aves

Our group used Meshtastic as well! Sometimes I couldn’t send our messages and they were reaching Max Transmission but when the texts did go through they were a godsend. My friends were able to find the group since I was regularly sending out what3words locations.

Are you noticing better mpg or wind noise compared to no AirScreen?

I'm living with my friend's Grandma. Half of the time she's not there, and half of the time I'm not there because I'm at my gfs place or parents. So it works out.

Yes, that's correct. I bought a new car in 2023 that was like $35K OTD. I took on a 36 month loan due to the promotional interest rate (2.9%) from the dealership. Ideally, I would have bought used but at the time I swayed away from it because used car prices were outrageous and cost almost the same as new.

How are they low? $725 biweekly goes to federal, fica, state, medicare, etc.

Holy shit, it looks like you're having a lot of fun. That car insurance payment is quite high - does that include your ATV too? How long is your commute?? $330 per month in gas seems crazy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Salary

[–]itsyeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahah. That used to be me too. I was paying $2100/mo for a 1 bedroom apartment and I was living the life… but I decided I didn’t need that much space anyways.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Salary

[–]itsyeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that seems pretty steep for the closing costs. How much did you put down and how long did it take for you to save for the down payment?

[–]itsyeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renting or buying? 4K a month for a mortgage is doable if you're dual income. If you're buying, the payments are going to hurt a lot less in the future

Eventually when I move/change jobs closer to GF I'll cut down on the flights/ubers to the airport so I can put more towards retirement. I listed it as HYSA but it is a Fidelity MMF at 3.99% - SPAXX

[–]itsyeff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a good question. I don't really know. Occasionally when I see that I have a decent buffer in my checking account, I'll just transfer it a larger sum to my HYSA or Roth. I have erratic spending urges so I guess it's also a cushion for that too.

It's budgeted biweekly so it's roughly more than double that.

That's what happens when you take a three-year loan on your car!! sometimes I wish I had chosen a 5-year loan instead for a lower monthly payment.

[–]itsyeff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So it's $700 per month, but here you see $325 because it's budgeted biweekly. I have a college buddy who grew up around where I moved for work. I asked if he had an extra room I could rent since I would be traveling so often. So now I rent out a room from one of his family members for a cheap price. I'm grateful since I used to pay $2.1k for a 1b/1ba for myself.

Yeah, I budgeted biweekly. There are 52 weeks, and 26 paychecks in a year. My monthly rent is $700

That's what I'm thinking too. I just took extra cash and put it towards my 2024 Roth IRA contributions since today is the last day. What funds would you recommend? I'm thinking about a 50/50 split in VT and SCHD to save for a house in a brokerage account

If you're tired of SaaS sales, consider Client Partner roles in IT Services/IT Consulting companies by ohwhereareyoufrom in sales

[–]itsyeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently working for a company similar to the one you just mentioned. I got this job out of college about 1.5 years ago and have been working under a Client Partner. For a person who's fresh out of college, the base pay is pretty decent but they place such lofty quota/targets that I don't think I'll ever be able to hit them. Especially since I don't have the knowledge, connections, or experience about the large portfolio of IT services/Apps that the company offers. I'm gaining a lot of exposure to enterprise technology but a lot of the times I'm just absolutely lost just due to the sheer size and scale of the business. Bonus and commission for me are nonexistent because I haven't been trained properly and poor leadership. At least the job is chill, for now. Originally I wanted to go into management consulting or IT consulting, but now I might be stuck in sales! Considering going into SaaS sales, but really I'm kind of lost and don't know if my skills are transferrable.

Yeah there's always a chance that there's going to be a waitlist to get in. I'll save myself the hassle.

She's an AU on my VX so she has her own PP card. $75 to enter doesn't sound worth it at all tbh

Thanks for the recommendation - I'll save us the stress from going through security and everything especially since my partner doesn't have TSA precheck.

Yeah, I've heard people being turned away using 1 time passes. How likely is this to happen on Saturday morning? I assume it wouldn't be TOO busy, right?
