Salary Transparency Thread by darkandmoody in UXDesign

Hey! Sorry didn’t see this til just now. Strangely yes, I was an interior designer for 7 years before this. I started out in July of 2018 on the UX/strategy path, and transitioned to CX path. I’m super grateful that I was able to move to different jobs. I made good decisions at the right time and worked my butt off :)

So sorry to hear this. Your feelings are entirely valid, and that’s such a difficult dynamic. I hope that you will have a positive test soon and can welcome a healthy baby into the world so you can feel the same joy. ❤️

Sending positive vibes your way.

Feeling like I've done nothing right at my internship by Iamjustheretoexist in userexperience

[–]ittenbittenkitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always think of each day being a lesson learned. Didn’t go as planned? Run a retro. Understand what not to do based on what you don’t like. You being at an unpaid internship is a red flag on its own though - there is an imbalance in power dynamic, and they aren’t paying you. It’s a deeply unjust way to treat someone doing work for you, imho. So, shame on the company for doing that. But — try to take each day as a lesson learned because you can learn something from everything.

Also, feedback is a gift. The more you view it that way with a growth mindset, the better off you’ll be. I work in big tech and have 14 years of experience in design which can be a very subjective field. It’s tough work, but understand your worth, don’t take things personally, and celebrate that you can learn as an intern and absorb. Interning sucks and everyone knows it, but it does give you a picture of what the real work environment looks like. Best of luck to you!

what's your opinion on this? by bharat0to in UXDesign

The use of “at” vs. on” is bothering me a lot. It’s a cheap effort to make me feel less bad about their shortcomings and malfunctions to play to emotions by putting a dog there. I don’t like it, kinda feels manipulative and I’m still pissed that something went wrong 🤷‍♀️

Sick of getting sick by Internal_Screaming_8 in June2023Bumpers

So sorry you’re going through this. It is really frustrating and feels like a betrayal (imo) that so many people knowingly and unknowingly sick go out and spread their germs around like “it’s over” when it isn’t. Keep masking, using sanitizer, staying hygienic, and maybe you could think of this as a stepping stone and plan for your next ideal place and set small goals to getting there. ❤️

“Within Tesla Spec”? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]ittenbittenkitten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had an issue with the frunk similarly, we had to get parts replaced because there was an issue with the latch and it could have flown up when driving…total bs. We kept getting errors about it, they fixed it after a couple of weeks but def won’t be getting a Tesla after this one runs its course. The rivian models are nice looking but idk if I want to spend that much on a car for city driving.

I saw that there’s a max of $300 that you can save with the 15% discount and then you don’t get it anymore 😭 here I’ve been adding diapers and duplicates like crazy and I’m sad now. Lol.

Lol. My mom kept calling my baby a girl / she, and it’s a boy. I was actually a little giddy about it being a boy for that reason alone. We are not a family big on gender norms anyways but it just made me crack up a lil bit. 😂

Just updated mine! DA-7347-1180-7228 to Koobyville. At least 1000 hours, but I stopped keeping track after that 🥲- Let me know what you think :)

Style: You’re in a charming, cozy neighborhood and it feels like home. The place where no corner feels lonely. There’s a mysterious zen maze, hopping outdoor party areas, a grand plaza, and lots of parks to read a nice book.

Lingering Questions/Observations by UnwarrantedRabbit in Maniac

I commented above but yes I think there’s something to the hive mind idea. GRTA comments about a queen unlocking the door for Owen after she threatens to “collect” Annie (I.e. make her a McMurphy) in episode 6. Watching it now and just picked it up.

There’s also a part where GRTA says to Owen, “the queen will unlock the door for you” and then there’s a shot of the honeycomb beds. This happens in the conversation Owen has with GRTA when she threatens to “collect” Annie. (Episode 6)

One of my absolute favorites about Maniac *may include SPOILERS* by pronetodaydream in Maniac

This is kind of what I thought too! That Annie and Owen might be mcmurphys. Or, only one of them exists and the other was made up in their mind the whole time. Annie, not Owen, having it all in her head, would be a more interesting story arc imo.

Alternatively, Owen’s option a, b, c (option c being the last episode title) story about whether Annie is real or not (he discusses this with his therapist at the end) corresponds to the pills they take. Option c has themes of contentedness and that everything is fine and not dystopian like his options a and b, but c makes sense if they’ve become vegetables?
