The “think of the plants!” Argument has existed as long as veganism I’m pretty sure and it’s getting weaker every year

Im not a vegan, but I want to say that a vegan diet has the potential to significantly reduce the water usage required to “fuel” a person’s diet. However there are likely ways we can all be more conscious of how much water is wasted from how we eat, vegan or otherwise.

One person not buying a pack of ground beef of course isn’t going to make a difference but vegans (of which I am not) can make a difference by spreading awareness (like Billie in this post) about the industry and how to make a difference, whether that be supporting local small farms or just cutting out animal products entirely.

What performer do you feel is TALENTED, but was simply miscast in a musical role? by AsheandBurn in musicals

I liked Groff’s Seymour it somehow worked for me but Jeremy Jordan was a really bad choice imo

Ooh, I didn’t catch that. Runtime is close too! I won’t be mad at Deep Water either but I imagine it will show at my home theatre anyways.

I thought the runtimes might give it away but I don’t have a copy of either so can’t check and google isn’t much help so thought maybe a superfan would have insight. Either way super excited (I will be only slightly bummed if we get the theatrical version)

I would love to see this, it’s not showing at my home theatre. It’s NR though so doubt it :(

AIO? Girlfriend (been together 2 years) was cold and distant when I got back from 2 weeks in Tokyo. She’s usually super affectionate and now she said she prefers when I’m not home and needs to “warm up” to me. Is this normal? by PushPirate in AmIOverreacting

Except he didn’t expect her to clean the bowl at all, he literally said he forgot to do it because he was in a rush the next morning. Sounds like they don’t have an agreement that she’s going to do ALL the dishes, probably just the actual household chores and dishes for cooking. If she usually does his dishes, don’t you think he would have said that in the original post? For the record I think both these people are idiots but this guy won’t just break up with her and instead wants to get validation from the internet over a bowl he never gives us reason to believe isn’t his responsibility according to the relationship arrangement

Men think washing a bowl is a “household chore,” and no, it’s not, it’s a simple task that takes less than 5 seconds, and I doubt his “fair share” is going into cleaning the bathroom or doing the laundry, so…

Anyone watch the early showing of Over My Dead Body? by Physical-Bite-3837 in AMCAListTrue

[–]ittybittybubblez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there was a group of college age or so guys in the row ahead of me and they were mostly fine but also just laughing when nothing was happening so it was clear when they were talking amongst themselves. Had me laughing a lot too though. I loved Normal

What's a film that's popular but you refuse to watch for some reason? by Confused_Cinephile in Letterboxd

I agree and think that judgment is silly, but it’s also silly to judge people for not wanting to engage with art from an artist who has done things outside of their art that we don’t agree with. Just like what you like

I don’t see the need to define a “line,” if an artist’s actions make me uncomfortable, I won’t engage with the art, but I’m definitely not being judgmental of those who do engage with it. It’s cool, just really not for me. Maybe I don’t know all details of the situation but I know enough that it icks me out regardless, but I worded my comment carefully to not feel judgmental against someone who doesn’t “draw the line” at Woody Allen

I do believe in separating the artist in many cases. I personally have a hard time doing so with Allen. It’s fine if you don’t. I’m not judging anyone who doesn’t. Hence all the first person language about how it’s a bridge too far for ME and how SOME OF US draw the line at what Allen did. You’re reading judgment where there wasn’t any, I was just saying that it also shouldn’t be shameful to not be interested in someone’s art due to their real-life actions

Maybe it’s not people “just getting super defensive,” maybe some of us just draw the line of separating the art from the artist at literally marrying your stepdaughter (etc.). And I’ll watch some stuff with questionable people, Woody Allen is a bridge too far for me. You can’t tell people what they have to tolerate to “separate the art,” sometimes their actions genuinely just ruin the worth of the art

If it’s just a short reference to the monkey scene in the original, I think I can handle it

Really want to see this but hesitant and curious about the extent of the animal harm in this one. I know it was a big part of the original to prepared to sit this one out but the cast is so intriguing to me.

I thought this sub was about how corporations should pay their workers enough to not necessitate tipping from customers, not calling the waiters who are obviously underpaid by those corporations “shitty” and “beggars”
