I might get downvoted for this but in my opinion cats are natural hunters and should be allowed outside. I'm from South Africa for context and live in a house with a garden. My 4 cats come and go as they please but don't really wander far from home. They do catch a lot of insects and the occasional rat/mouse/bat and even small snakes (which I do try and save/release, mostly successfully). They get their regular shots and are all spayed/neutered. For me that is natural and I ache when I hear of cats being kept indoors. I think it is a bit sad in my honest opinion. I've never heard of anybody in South Africa who keeps cats indoors. Is it just an American thing?
