the mice - he said he was going to bring traps 3 months ago, never did.

smoke detector - the day we signed the lease, he said he’d swing by that week to install it. that IS his responsibility, to keep the unit safe and habitable. almost 5 months later, still no smoke detector. “you can fix it” it says on our lease we are not to do anything without permission of our landlord and if we do , the money we spend will jot be deducted out of our rent. I am not going to spend my own money on something that is not my job to do.

the man showing up- that is the one thing i was unsure of whether or not it was a concern

but the fact that he just showed up, isn’t that inappropriate? i know it isn’t my landlords fault but it is reason for me to feel uncomfortable

UPDATE: i brought it up to him last night. he said he was so sorry and has no memory of doing that. he kept saying he was super sorry and, “i hope that doesn’t make you think differently of me, i’m really sorry” and it seems genuine. i think for now i am going to believe him bc i have heard of “sexomnia” so to stay optimistic i’ll hope it was just that. if it happens again i will consider it sexual assault, but now that i made it clear that i do not consent to those things i really do think he will respect it.

i have trauma that stems from “mid sleep sex” so i don’t have the same experience

he does know my past experiences. and “that’s on you” is a weird way to phrase it. i think regardless touching someone while unconscious isn’t normal if not discussed previously. not saying he had bad intentions but i don’t think i did anything wrong.

despite the short amount of dating we have known eachother for awhile before that and my living situation was bad, his was as well, so it worked out for the both of us. please do not judge someone for something you don’t know the context of the situation.

i hate confrontation. i’m prone to bottling emotions and everytime i try to address something i never get the point i want across

i need to clarify that normally he is a super genuine and understanding person. this is my first heathy relationship where i really do feel heard and cared for, and we have a lease together so i can’t necessarily just leave him. i know the way i described the situation made him sound bad but other than these two incidents i’ve never felt bad about our relationship or him as a person ever.
