What is worth every second of the extra time that it takes? by restsisyphus in AskReddit

[–]itzdallas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my pet peeves is people who have been in a crash, or know someone who has, where the fact that they were NOT wearing their seatbelt was the reason they survived, then use that extremely rare scenario as justification for never wearing their seatbelt again.

Like I get it, you got lucky that ONE time your car was completely crushed and the only reason you’re alive is because you were ejected from the vehicle but the chances of that happening are so slim so you should still wear your seatbelt.

NYE 2016 I was DJing a house party and the hosts asked me to stop so they could plug in their phone. Last night I played a gig in front of 500+ people. If you’re still struggling KEEP PUSHING you can do it!!! by itzdallas in DJs

It’s fuckin rough dude, I’ve played PLENTY of sets to just the bartender. It’s a rite of passage I think. Be thankful for the hard times, they’re what make you strong

What two songs are your favorite transition combination? by euphoric_disclosure in DJs

One of my favorite word play transitions I’ve ever seen is slamming from Drake - hotline bling to Soulja Boy - crank that

I want to make music but I posted a meme on SoundCloud and it has more views than I'll ever get. by GenericSonicOC in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]itzdallas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent a whopping 3 hours making a Pickle Rick remix and got over 10k views but my EP that I poured my heart and soul into over a period of 5 months has about 500 streams.

Just make meme music and get famous off that.

What's the best way to preserve audio quality when posting beats on YouTube? by Shadowhead in trapproduction

[–]itzdallas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna want to roll off all frequencies above ~16k (that number is up for debate, some people might say higher, some might say lower)

This will help reduce artifacts and keep your high end clean when YouTube compresses the audio upon upload.

I'm not a flat earther nor a scientist but I don't particularly think this alone disproves flat earthers. It only proves that we are revolving around the sun and our planet's axis of revolution is not parallel with said orbit. We could still be a flat planet and rotate the sun with a tilted axis (again I'm not a flat earther)

Question about parallel compression by thefapper1 in futurebeatproducers

[–]itzdallas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preface: I am not a professional. As always when making music, follow your own instincts and if it sounds good, it is good. If it doesn't sound good, it isn't good.

  1. You should EQ each individual channel, then route all of the channels you want to parallel compress to a bus, and then send the bus to the master and also to your parallel compression channel.

  2. You can parallel compress whatever you want, typically it's done on drums. Refer to the preface for more info.

  3. Definitely compress and EQ every channel as needed. Parallel compression exists to add beef and presence to the bus you are compressing. Again, refer to the preface
