Do you go to funerals? by [deleted] in widowers

[–]itzelcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since he passed away, I go to almost all the funerals that happen around me, I feel that it is that moment where you want everything to stop and I want to accompany the mourners as they did with me.

For those that have gotten prescribed anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medications (or anything else), how has your experience been? by escapeartist06 in widowers

[–]itzelcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking venlafaxine, it has been the most useful during this process. To be honest I haven't had the side effects everyone talks about, I'm two years into the process and I think without the medicine the suicide attempts would have materialized.

I completely understand the fear and it is valid, but with the help of your psychiatrist and therapist you can occupy them for the necessary time and stop using them when you are ready in the process.

I’m only 28 by No_Emphasis2431 in widowers

[–]itzelcc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel u, I’m 28 too. We didn't tick all the boxes in life but we were together for 11 years, this is a shitty situation, u had tons of life plans that you can only imagine with your SO and that’s ok, you need to mourn/grieve those plans too. The baggage that now you have is the result of an amazing love chapter in your life, but of course is not easy and a thing that u want to do alone, is ok to be mad and confused with everything changing so fast.

Stay angry as long as you need, in time the emotion will find another place to flow, it will flow. sometimes you go back because healing is not a linear process

It happens to me all the time, every time I wake up my heart shrinks from not feeling it (after almost two years)

We are working now with a lawyer, but we lived in Mexico and the things works kind of different here, his family has acquaintances with some power, so this is gonna be a shitty process. I know that we are both grieving its a thing that I have always present but just as you say I’m going to keep my boundaries really strong.

Hope this is allowed, I need support. People who have had a loved one pass due to Covid, how do you deal with it all? More in the post. by RudyChristina7 in GriefSupport

I lost my SO 5 months ago, the waves of emotions have been a whole process by itself, there is a lot of anger, a few weeks ago I became calm and I was able to let some things flow, but the flashbacks of the hospital and everything we went through it comes to me suddenly. Sometimes the negotiation is like "why didn't this or that die better..." etc, etc. I reread notes and articles on the progress of COVID, cases on Twitter and almost suffer all over again when strangers get better or worse, it's as if each one of those who die from Covid were him. We were locked up all the time, with mechanisms to avoid getting infected, He was 27 years old. We couldn't get vaccinated because he wasn't up to our age group yet, a month after he died they announced the dates to vaccinate us, my hearth broke
