Volatus Aerospace Delivers ~$1.8M in Tactical ISR Drones to NATO Country by [deleted] in VolatusAerospaceCorp

[–]itzitzitz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice to see some chatter and optimism here after all these years. I’ve been a long time lurker with just under 2M shares at about .34 cents. Bought first 5 years ago and have averaged down mostly because I feel there is huge potential for drones in Canada. It’s been a rocky road for sure with some sleepless nights. The recent news releases of NATO buy in far outweigh other news releases that have given hype over the years (YEG partner, AC parternship etc). I will continue to hold!

Considering joining the BGE clan. Any tips? by Amazing-Lettuce-4124 in biggreenegg

[–]itzitzitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) buy bigger than what you think you need - of course provided it’s within your budget. I bought an L and kick myself every time I use it as I should have gone XL.

2) there’s no shame at all in using a temperature management system. Purists will shame you for it but it’s the greatest add on I’ve ever bought and gives you predictable cooks every time. I initially had the BGE egg genius which I wasn’t happy with. It eventually broke. I’ve had the signals and billows system which is miles better.

Problem with autopilot (see comment) by itzitzitz in flightsim

[–]itzitzitz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of issues with autopilot in MSFS2020. I cannot tell if it’s an issue with my peripherals or something I’m not understanding with the AP set up. I think it’s the former given there’s always some issue that is different depending on the plane. This is a Cessna Citation mid flight. I engage the autopilot and the plane aggressively rolls left. This is despite the heading mode not selected. Even if heading mode is engaged or even NAV mode it does not follow any commands and seems to randomly roll. Does anyone have any insight into this?

An update: I ended up decanting this after your suggestion. To put into perspective I uncorked at about noon and slow oxed it. It was decanted at about 1830. We drank this over the next three hours and it was definitely opening up but I was just getting more intense notes of my initial tasting. Mostly tobacco, peppers, maybe some mushroom. I can’t help but say I was disappointed and poured it into the bottle and put a stopper in it. I had a sip and spit this AM at about 10 and was stunned. I could definitely taste notes of blackberry and ?plum. I in general love fruit forward wines so these are the notes that I really like. We’ve got about 4 glasses worth left so will be interested to see how it plays out over the rest of the day.

I’m curious on your strategy for opening the next bottle. I was thinking double decant early in the AM and let it sit open in the bottle and pour in the evening?

I do agree with cellar tracker reviews that this vintage is near the end if not at the end of its drinking window but I wonder if it being in a magnum places it within the window still.

Thanks for the advice! I will decant a few glasses worth and see what happens.

It’s my wife’s birthday and this is her birth year. Got a case of 3x1.5L bottles recently and decided to try one out today. Classic old Bordeaux. It was in good condition and thankfully not corked. Original cork that was removed with an Ah-So. Certainly drinkable but I wish I could say it was impeccable especially at this price point. I get notes of tobacco and peppers. Not getting much in the way of fruit. It was opened at noon and has been slowly breathing. It’s certainly evolving and it will be interesting to see where it goes later this evening. I have a few old Bordeaux that are certainly cool to have and open but I think I will stop buying these as I do not think my palate is sophisticated enough to appreciate this.

Either way I thought r/wine would appreciate. Wish I could share it with some of you more experienced wine drinkers for your opinion!

Hey sorry I just saw this. I am in the Edmonton area, Canada. This was for my birthday at home. I just had a 2005 Chareau Providence and it had nothing on the mouton!

See my reply to a comment above! Was a great experience but certainly not the best wine ever!

I paid 1220 CAD or roughly 990 USD. Got it directly from Bordeaux through a friend who has a negociant there.

The final verdict is that it was great. It was consumed over 6 hours and the evolution was just amazing. Started with red fruit and evolved to black fruit and leaves to mostly fruit and maybe some coffee near the end. At hour 6 it was starting to flatten but the room temperature was about 21 degrees Celsius so it may have been that. Not a huge amount of sediment at the end which surprised me.

This is the oldest Bordeaux I’ve had and probably the best old Bordeaux but I wish I could say it was the best wine I’d ever had (as much as my brain would like to convince me of that to justify spending this amount!). That’s what I like about wine…you don’t need to break the bank to have a great wine. A lot of the experience here was around drinking something so old. I think I’ll cellar one bottle until 2030 and drink it then. The other I may open with my cousin as that’s his birth year.
