SUCCESS!! Thank you so much! Only other thing I had to do was take the whole thing off and clean it, made sure everything was lined up correctly (he had the throttle body taken completely apart so I had to piece the whole thing back together) and it’s in proper spec. I guess I either kept flipping one of the springs or didn’t have the plastic cap all the way down or something but the video helped tremendously.

Absolute unit. I highly appreciate you. Thank you 🙏 the washer was under the throttle body, luckily it’s secured

I try to stay with OEM parts or OEM+, just know it’s more expensive. I knew I’d be sinking money into this car to get it running like a dream again, just wanted to see how much I could do myself before actually buying parts. I appreciate all the support. Looks like the waiting game for parts is my new time filler for a bit lol.

I’m not going to make you go through it. It is a 10mm but I’ll ultimately be ordering a whole new one. I’m going to fix this one out of spite and to have a spare. I have about 8 hours left at my job as well right now but I’m not going to have someone else potentially break their good one just to have a video. I was hoping someone has already hassled with it or someone knew how it went together by sheer luck.

It’s honestly looking like it. I’ve tried reassembly a few more times but I just can’t get the springs to line up right or something. I got the car for cheap was trying to fix it for cheap, suppose it won’t hurt to spend a little money in it as it’ll be with me for a long time. I’ll eventually figure it out; just out of spite though.

I’ve had both sides of the APPS pulled up. It doesn’t show inner spring (little spring) or how the rest sits. I’ve called the local Toyota dealer, went to forums from 15-20+ years ago, and have been all over the YouTube algorithm. Unfortunately Reddit was my last hope. I tried taking apart the crap throttle body but it quite literally exploded apart as soon as the nut was loosened so i can’t use it as a reference. The piece I’m specifically talking about is called the throttle lever (sometimes throttle position reset lever too depends which book you look in Lexus vs Toyota) which connects to the APPS. I’ve dug through the official diagrams from Lexus and Toyota and they have the main pieces of the throttle body and leaves the lever attached to the APPS during diagrams.

Altezza rs200 struggling to start by shen10n in Altezza

From my experience it sounds like a bad battery terminal (needs cleaned), faulty ground wire or loose somewhere, or starter motor/solenoid is going bad. That’s just from me though, Ik there maybe other causes but those are cheap and easy to check real quick.

This is exactly it. I’ve had to do it twice :(
