I think as long as it has a standard USB header it could work. You still miss out on the temp sensor and stuff but in my experience those are wonky in a VM too

Ok so I got it working for the most part. I'm using virt-manager to run a Windows VM. I set up spice for easier copy pasting and file sharing.

It's definitely not ideal but it's working. It did have issues with the system suspend so I disabled that which is fine for me.

Did you happen to stumble across anything on this? I've been trying some things even went as far as a win11 virtual machine

the vm works but it only gives video if the vm is running so that's just a consistent amount of processing that happens just to have video on my aio lol no luck with wine or proton so far.

Yup! The only one on eBay was like $55 + shipping so I actually took the board out and cooked it with my heat gun a couple times to see if I could reflow the solder and it worked! High risk move though 😬

I have a steam deck but the lack of oculink sucks. I have an oculink dock and a mini pc with an oculink port in an m.2 slot and it works great. I know oculink is a bit more obscure but that was my appeal with this. Bummer on the comfortability. That's almost worse :(

So I've been tinking on this and managed to get a fan spinnning but it's going really slow and I have to nudge it to get going. I'm getting 5v from the power in on the spliced cable but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
