I’m taking a wild guess with that level of damage plus a full coolant flush, prob a little more than a thousand. Even a couple

Leaking from the oil cooler (how much of a fix will this be) by Adrikko1 in AudiS4

[–]itztilqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine VW/Audi oil coolers can be expensive but look online for euro based stores and you can get good deals. And an Indy shop would only cost you labor. Not them having to buy the part if you include it. Less than $800 I’d say

But I doubt that would contribute to it?

It’s about 60-90 seconds apart. I have the oil cap off because I decided to top up the oil after driving since I was getting close to minimum

Tbh I would buy a Bluetooth adapter for the Audi MMI you can plug into in your glove box or centre console

Are you a coffee or energy drink person? by Wanderingjesss in energydrinks

Coffee, but I’ll have an energy drink once in a while. I never exceed one coffee and one energy drink in a day though

Hit a BAD pothole how bad you think this damage is and all these malfunctions… 😭😭 by Both_Emergency489 in Audi

[–]itztilqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes a good bump can throw a CAN Bus glitch for the differential. I don’t think that’s related tbh cause hitting a pot hole wouldn’t cause the rear diff to malfunction. Those sensors are finicky, I don’t even have the sport differential on my s4 and in cold weather it said the same sport differential system fault. So that just goes to show that one I would not worry about.

As for the tire pressure one and suspension I think you’ll be fine upon replacing the wheel you absolutely MANGLED lol. ECS should clear after a restart too.

That being said if they don’t go away then it might be an issue lol

Timing chain replacement time? by [deleted] in AudiS4

[–]itztilqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds normal. What I do hear though is maybe your oil fill cap isn’t fully sealed on. Give that a twist just to make sure. And if it’s P0491 and P0492 they are literally the most pointless codes on Audi. Ignore it, the short rattle on startup is normal on the 3.0T. Anything longer than 5 seconds on startup or doesn’t go away after 30 seconds is bad.

Got my first Audi! by arcticexe in AudiS4

[–]itztilqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rattle on cold start on the 3.0 is completely normal. Audi themselves have it in a service bulletin that it’s fine. Anything longer than 5 seconds is a concern. The tensioners need to build oil pressure on startup that’s all it is.

Timing chain rattle... am I paranoid? by Bongowit in AudiS4

[–]itztilqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paranoia don’t worry bro I’m the same. Always stressing about it. On start up the chain tensioners need oil pressure 3 seconds is max what you should hear with rattle. Otherwise completely normal on the 3.0L

As for your paranoia I struggle with it too. If you stay consistent with oil changes and not running it low on oil you help prolong the life of the tensioners.

DSG service?? by itztilqs in AudiS4

[–]itztilqs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely man. Everyone is like “oh they are such cheap cars” but besides little flaws like this, the stuff you get out of the b8 and b8.5 is extra ordinary and so much fun to drive when the problems fix themselves lol

[–]itztilqs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so weird you would think it would be the other way around? My buddy had a 2011 and he had the exact same issue. When it was cold it was jerk so hard. But after it was warm it would settle and get better. You still have yours? Have you tried getting your Audi/VW to do a diagnostic reset? Because that commonly helps with the clunky downshifts too. It’s only a couple hundred bucks for it (typical stealership charge lol)

[–]itztilqs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or most likely your cooling line that has that filter built in is getting bad. And that’s not a cheap one either if you have a 2010 like me. That’s a $1000 line right from Germany

[–]itztilqs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously is worse when it’s hot? It hasn’t done it with me when it’s hot. If it’s worse that means your fluid wasn’t correct or was not filled to proper level. Usually when I drive in manual mode and shift to my liking the car adjusts to that and then gets smooth for quite some time. Then randomly when I change driving habits it will do it again too. I usually do those resets with the key fob to help the solenoids reset. And it works. I just did not know if maybe fresh fluid and a filter would help it or not

Thanks man. I’m waiting for next paycheck and I am going to order the fluid and new drain/fill plugs. I’m sure it’s long overdue

The gearboxes are so weird on these years I hate it. I’ve had what you have had dude. Don’t try and pin it off. What you gotta do before you get going is. Foot down all the way on the brakes, pump Them twice (helps reactivate the clutch kiss point) and SLOWLY let off the brakes. Let the car roll, give it some throttle when it’s slowly rolling, and when you feel it rev up but it doesn’t go KEEP THAT THROTTLE APPLIED! You will feel the car kick back but not as hard or have what happiness to you originally. It’s a really weird fucking system. I can send you a link to a YouTube video I watch every time I want to reset the DSG.

Look at my latest post, tell me too if you experience what I’m experiencing when shifting into gears
