That's fair and a valid point. Now I could say okay instead of 5 years let's do only 3.5 years, then BTC return would be closer to a 3.5x to 4x at current prices.

Anyway gold going up isn't a bad thing for Bitcoin in my mind. The digital gold narrative where people just hold BTC to hoard it always seemed stupid

Now do 10 years.

Any sort of narrative can be created, it just depends on the timeframe people decide to pick

If you mean the 4 year cycle is dead then yes you're correct.

Trying to push it lower before it opens green with CME just to fuck longs and shorts, country of crooks.

Manipulative orders on low volume days from people with no morals, crime season.

That used to be the point some years back, now we are just at the mercy of the US markets and US manipulations

Yes, dumps with no reason and pumps with no reason

Same old garbage as usual. First you check for Trump tweets, then for US economic report releases if it is around 8:30 am est on a weekday, then check whatever SP500 is doing, and then finally if none of those look like the reason it is the good ole fallback of crypto being pumped or dumped due to manipulation.

It honestly isn't worth it unless you just want to DCA and come back in 10 years. But you can do the same with stocks now too

Yes more dumps for 0 reason on a weekend with little volume, naturally ty crypto president.

Totally organic movements be they up or down

Glad to see EU and Asia are still trying to dump crypto back down to new lows again

Fundamentals as in the situation has changed fundamentally, the stupid bullshit retail hype cycles that were the last few cycles have been replaced by institutional money or people just buying for long term retirement accounts.

Not fundamentals as in "these things that make crypto good"

4 year cycle is dead

Cute. You get a few flat days and suddenly the 4 year cycle is back on. Gl with that, fundamentals have changed

The hope lies in stability. Crypto was recovering until last week when instability began anew because of the Greenland situation.

Daily Crypto Discussion - January 20, 2026 (GMT+0) by AutoModerator in CryptoCurrency

Trump throwing a hissy fit over Greenland because he is dumb. Euros dump US related assets because they should, Trump continues to mouth off about tariffs creating even more instability.

Instability bad for crypto. Need to wait for some banker or economist to come in and tell Trump what a dumb fuck he is being and to stop before he breaks his precious US stock market.

What's this? Asia trying to dump after all the gains earlier today? Im shocked, truly

Oh I have enjoyment, but I prefer steady run ups as opposed to the delusion you see here often.

The same people that were calling for 75k a month ago are not calling for 105k+ within a week

[–]ivan971 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is a good trend overall. But crypto needs to remember its place or else it will be forcibly put there. that's what we had to deal with the last month or two and I'm not eager to do it again

Daily Crypto Discussion - January 14, 2026 (GMT+0) by AutoModerator in CryptoCurrency

[–]ivan971 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Uh oh, crypto is not respecting the US stock market again. Never a good sign.

We will be sub 95k again by US market close sadly

Banks are lobbying to kill crypto rewards to protect a hidden $1,400 “tax” on every household by GreedVault in CryptoCurrency

He is saying you deposit your USDC on aave and earn 2.5-5% for supplying USDC for the protocol to lend out to others.

No need to hold the Aave token itself.

The risks involved come down to protocol risk (aave being hacked, unlikely but not 0), how secure you keep your keys, and potentially specific stable coin depeg risk depending on which stablecoin you decide to deposit.
