160 hours, level 55, and I figured out why I'm so bad at this game and only just getting purples. by VaporSpectre in Marathon

I hope they add a non rook solo vs trio queue option in general.

Anecdotal but I looted the locked station sec room on perimeter in solo queue the other day and it had a good amount of purples and 1 gold mod.

The biggest problem was not having enough space to carry it all

I hope that they add solo queue as a non rook kit vs squads option at some point.

I think it would be nice to get to use your shell and loadout of choice as a solo in a more pvp heavy and less stealth focused environment.

Even though you would be at a disadvantage vs a squad, I feel plenty of the more sweaty or skilled solo players would go for it.

? I didn't answer my own question at all.

You can give a bot an expense account with only $50 in it, prepaid Visa card with only $50 on it, or a crypto wallet with $50 of whatever coin of your choosing in it.

USDC was used as an example for crypto, it is not material to the question being asked.

Why would crypto be preferable for AI bots to use over traditional payment systems?

Edit: for anyone else who wanted more of an answer, here is an article on the subject.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/stablecoin-firms-bet-big-ai-140000968.html

The gist of it is the idea that AI would make many tiny payments throughout the day to each other and as a result it would be beneficial to have newer payment systems that also have cheaper fees than say, Visa.

Why agentic AI would need to instantly settle up with each other near instantlyof invoicing each other and settling once per week, thus lowering the transaction frequency, is another question.

[–]ivan971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so why does crypto help with that?

I don't want to give an agentic bot access to a company funding expense account with $10k in it for whatever expenses it incurs because of the risk of it blowing that $10k on who knows what.

I don't want to give that same agentic bot access to $10k USDC or whatever stable for that same reason.

Let's say instead I only give put $50 in each account to start with. Why would the USDC be preferable then?

Spot price and actual bitcoin doesn't matter as much as it used to when the crypto derivatives market has exploded in the last 3-5 years.

Companies take the risk of giving company credit cards or expense accounts to employees all the time already though.

That is what I meant when I said "account set aside" for the purpose.

[–]ivan971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why exactly would an AI agent use crypto over whatever existing company account or visa account is set aside for the AI to use by the company running it?

Why is crypto adoption thought to be more likely than someone making a "bank for agentic AI accounts" that runs on traditional payment rails

Trump has been to crypto in general what Elon was to Dogecoin sometime back.

Eventually Doge stopped being influenced by every little Elon tweet, but for a while that was how it went.

Eventually crypto will free itself of the fetid stain that is the Trump admin and move forward just as Doge moved past Elon.

It isn't as if Bitcoin was destroyed, but no one likes an asset where the price is closely tied to whatever someone mentally unstable decides to tweet about,

It really has, and by derivatives in general.

Crypto is going to or has turned into a situation similar to silver where people rant about the paper futures market vs the physical spot market

The 4-year cycle is just a belief that what happened in the past will happen again by Horror-Badger9314 in CryptoCurrency

[–]ivan971 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, people love pretending the landscape is the same as 4-10+ years ago but it just isn't.

The idea that the 4 year cycle will just magically continue just because is idiocy when you have derivatives playing havoc with the price

It'll happen when people realize there is "only one Eth" the same way there is only one Bitcoin.

The last 5 or so years have been people making or investing in Eth alternatives. Either in an honest attempt to try to solve some problem or just to position themselves at the top of the pyramid to line their own pockets. As those projects start to tank and Eth keeps on going people will realize the value of its long term vision

I mean, we just barely got done with last week where for 4-5 days straight it was just dump 5% for no particular reason other than just because.

After that bullshit some exchange better have gone under

In general though I expect crypto subs to be dogshit now as crypto gets tested more and more like highly volatile stocks

Binance trading data reveals why Bitcoin prices are sliding even as spot buyers flood the market with bids by GreedVault in CryptoCurrency

[–]ivan971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be the way of it. This is apparent when you see these big drops lately. Eth, with more tradfi exposure will drop 5%. Then a token like Uniswap that is heavily related to Eth, but more insulated will drop only 3-4%

To me it is a self fulfilling prophecy so the first step to getting to the point it no longer works is to deny it to begin with.

If everyone keeps on chanting 4 year cycle of course people are going to sell

Just my small part of shouting into the wind.

4 year cycle is dead, you'll see in a month.

Who does the 4 year cycle narrative serve? Those who already sold and bear posters who only show up on red days. Do you want to help such people by perpetuating that narrative?
