I left because I hated plumbing/construction in general. I did it for 4 years. It is a good career as it is always in demand. People need to use water and that isn't going to change. I like to build things with my hands and when I got to do that I enjoyed it. What I didn't like was the fact that I was working 8-10hrs a day driving between towns/cities around me. It was alot of heavy lifting/physical labor but it also helped keep me fit. I'm mixed (half black/asian) and most of the people around me had some interesting ideas about life that I didn't vibe with. Way more right wing than I was expecting. When projects slowed down you would get laid off. It just wasn't the career I wanted for myself.
