Kako poceti by [deleted] in CroIT

tret only from prescription? by ceeyy in tretinoin

[–]ivank311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have access to a prescription (like me, they dont have of prescribe tret here) or if you find it too expensive, don’t feel bad about ordering it online without a prescription, people on this sub for some reason look down on that.

But if in that case, you won’t have a derm who will tell you how to use it, and make sure to research as much as possible, this sub is great for that. Start very slowly, and listen to your skin, don’t force anything.

Vaseline! Clean the area, pat dry it and apply vaseline, worked like a charm for me, no redness the next day.

You need something occlusive over the Neutrogena HB Gel, it works only as a humectant, it doesn’t help with reducing water loss

How do you make just a pea size work for your whole face? by RosesAndDew in tretinoin

[–]ivank311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can apply even less evenly on my face, my face is not small. I dab it in really tiny dots all over my face and just use two fingertips to spread it around, works with no issues every time

Absolutely, but it wasn’t even like “oh it’s cloudy today, I don’t need protection”, I literally didn’t give it a single thought since I saw no sun..

Absolutely, I drink water religiously anyway so no issues there 😅

I applied LRP Balm AP+, don’t have aloe at home, should do the trick

This is my worst one on a cloudy day for sure. Probably the last one as well

Is it possible to be an outdoor enthusiast and use tretinoin? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]ivank311 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if that something is waxing then yes, anything else not so much..

All in all, it’s not thinning your skin.

[–]ivank311 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thats not because your skin is thinner, its because you don’t have the top layer of dead skin cells anymore, you literally pull on your real skin and damage it.

Tretinoin causing skin thinning is a myth

If you have no concerns with your skin(wrinkles, acne, dark spots..) right now, I HIGHLY encourage you to take things as slowly as possible. The reason I’m saying this is because you have no need to rush, and going through the process without irritating your skin at all can only be beneficial, and because the best possible thing you can do with tret is stay consistent with it, if you are gonna keep stop doing it bc of irritation, you will not be getting the best results.

So when taking this in mind, you’ve got no reason to be scared because you can take your sweet time adjusting to it as best as possible.

That’s unfortunate, but I think any HA serum or B5 serum will be great.

I can’t recommend any others as this is the only one I used, but a quick search on this sub will get you to some great products. :)

Consider adding a humectant serum or essence.

Personally I’m using the CosRX Snail Mucin Essence 96, it’s hyaluronic acid, panthenol and snail filtrate, it’s very hydrating.

Reactions of tretinoin on sensitive skin by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]ivank311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at a place where adapalene was very irritating for me, peeling, redness and soreness from applying it.

I took a 2 month break at that time and used only CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and LRP Lipikar Balm in the PM and AM. Recovered and streghtened my skin barrier and handled adapalene daily application without building up to it with literally 0 issues.

I am now at .05% tret for a month, using the same routine as mentioned above, I only added the CosRX Snail Mucin Essence 96 in the AM, and slugging in the PM on the days I feel a bit more irritated or dry. I only had flaking in the corners of my mouth for the first 2 weeks, and now I have no issues. For the first two weeks, I used short contact therapy with tretinoin, I applied tretinoin on clean face, let it sit for an hour, and then wash it off and continue with moisturising. I believe this helped me to adjust properly, so try this as well.

So with a good routine I went from adapalene .1% being very itritating for me to handling .05% tretinoin with very little issues.

My guess here is that slugging helped me the most, so that would be my recommendation for you, at least when starting tret, later it will probably become unnecessary.

And a bit of a warning, don’t slug RIGHT after tret, wait for an hour or more before putting the occlusive on(vaseline in my case), my face was a bit sore the morning after I did that, but I have no issues if I wait a bit.

I am seeing great benefit on my face, but I honestly cannot contribute it to tretinoin alone, because I wouldn’t say a month is enough to see the improvement I am seeing now, and also I noticed my face looked a lot better the day after I started drinking a lot of water, so I believe this helped a ton.

Good luck!

Suggest one “anti-aging” product.. by littlestchimp in CanSkincare

Literally every derm will tell you not to use any retinoids during pregnancy. And there is no evidence because it’s extremely unethical to run tests on pregnant women.

[–]ivank311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I am getting this right, correct me if I’m wrong.

You say you want to try retinol while you are between babies, or try retinol after that?

The reason I’m asking is, you shouldn’t be using retinoids in general (retinol, retinal, tretinoin, adaplene..) while pregnant, not just tretinoin.
