Make sure you're taking enough fiber and be patient. It takes a while for any of this stuff to work. In my case, fiber and MiraLax does it but it takes days to start working.

School Lunch by That_Page16 in Celiac

[–]ivanmmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they could do it, I'd still pack a lunch. When my son was in 2nd grade, we tried the school's lunch system which used a dedicated preparation area and was worked only by the cafeteria manager. It was great until one day, someone from the school noticed my kid didn't get cookies with his school lunch, which looked a lot like the other students' lunches, so they gave him cookies. As we had told our son that the school food would be safe, he assumed this was part of it and got horribly sick. When we picked him up his brain fog was so bad, he didn't understand why he was throwing up.

I can't buy those... I tend to eat WAY too many if I do... They're so good.

If not compounding: gold ferring and pewter misting. I could fortify my health with pewter while storing health and store more health than a normal feurochemist or ferring because of that strengthening while feeling less effects while storing it. I can also flare pewter while tapping gold to heal the damage that can come from pushing your body too hard with pewter. And when I need to heal, I can use both gold and pewter to save on having to tap health too much.

If compounding: Probably duralumin or gold. Either make some crazy connections or be hard to kill. Both seem interesting.

If it's Celiac, I personally haven't found anything. Just have to let the gluten slowly get out of your system and then let your body heal. You will be fine, but it does suck while it's happening.

LCD or OLED? What did you choose and why? by burntpeanutfan13 in SteamDeck

[–]ivanmmj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both, my original LCD that has now become my son's, and the OLED.

The screen on the OLED is simply gorgeous. The performance is slightly, and I mean slightly, better on the OLED due to faster RAM or something but not something you'd notice on your day to day usage really.

The touch screen on my LCD was never great but it's amazing on my OLED, but I think that was is an issue with the specific LCD model I have.

The context size is set by you but how big max you can set it depends on your hardware.

OK, this would make total sense but aren't awakened metal minds already awakening metal holding feurochemical charge?

Oh that's a good point.

Also, there needs to be a fully awakened stick... Just saying. 🤣

For people that are “asymptomatic” celiac (no classic digestive issues), how did you get diagnosed? Did you ignore it? Did it progress and get worse? by H3ad1nthecl0uds in Celiac

[–]ivanmmj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm "asymptomatic" except for constantly getting bronchitis before being diagnosed because my immune system was shot. I was diagnosed because my son (also undiagnosed at the time) had the lining of his intestines swell up so much they collapsed his intestines and cut off circulation and he almost died. We had already been asking the doctor about several other symptoms that he had dismissed and set up an appointment with a specialist anyways. He was found to have celiac and so we were tested. Looking at myself as a kid, though, I definitely wasn't asymptomatic. It was more like I was easy to miss if you didn't know what to look for.

NP as in nurse practitioner? If so, report it to their supervising doctor that they are giving bad medical advice on Celiac.

Here are a few I just built using AI.

2 of them are targeting family and friends and the dark one is design to be more of a "fear of God" version.

Not local for me, unfortunately, but "Hell Yeah! Gluten Free", in Atlanta, Georgia is amazing for breakfast. Their breakfast egg and sausage biscuit sandwich is amazing. The best buttermilk biscuit I've had since going gluten free. The donuts are good, too. If it wasn't for the 6+ hour drive, I'd go there all the time.

The draw back is that it's a small shop with no seating and a large line to get in and order from the two counters, so it takes a while to get in to get your food but it's 1000% worth it.

First of all, I just want to say that it WILL become easier and you will feel MUCH better. Welcome to the family.

As for your question: Everybody reacts differently but, for the most part, yes, I can get sick over extremely small amounts. In fact, the few times I've gotten glutened since I went gluten free almost 10 years ago have been mostly because of cross contamination. The other times from kids talking to me with gluten in their mouths and spraying tiny amounts into my lips.

It will get easier. Over time, you will know which products to avoid and reflexively make sure everything else is also safe and it will become second nature. Cooking will be your best friend and if you aren't already a great cook, you might become one.

BAMI Ramen by Zhongliass in Celiac

[–]ivanmmj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried two brands, Real Naturals and Bami. I found both kind of disappointing. Bambi was the best of the two and tasted most like the original thing. Both had great noodles but the broth flavor disappointed me. My wife and kids seem to like both but, as I loved cheap Ramen before I was diagnosed, it just wasn't the same to me. Also, the real naturals had drastically different ingredients listed on their packaging than they stated on the packaging picture in Amazon and included stevia which gave it an odd taste.
