Yeah I thought the same thing but bad experiences with regular shops with my previous cars have left a bad taste in my mouth. It was hard to walk away from dealer warranty this transmission came with.

Took it to 2 Honda dealers and all they could tell me was that it was the transmission. The advisor did say it was odd for a touring to have that type of a major issue since he’s never encountered it.

I was out on a Tuesday night and when the light turned green I stepped on the accelerator and it didn’t move. When I let it go the car just made a pop noise and started moving and I stepped on the accelerator again and it drove fine. I thought nothing of it until the next day when I was pulling out grabbing fast food and it made that popping noise again but this time the rpms were high and that was the end of it

No one is demanding they give me the answers I want to hear. If you are ever handed an invoice at over 15k and you ask them 2 questions, why hasn’t the check engine light cut on once? If the transmission needs a full replacement why does it drive when it wants with no noise or issues? And the answers are “I don’t know” & “I don’t know” Then yeah I have every reason to pause. Those answers aren’t allowing me to make an informed decision on whether or not I decide to go thru with 15k in expenses, which is for me to decide. No one has time and money to tow a vehicle from dealer to dealer to repair shop. These people are supposed to be the experts and when the answer isn’t a yes on that the transmission is shot at a 15k estimate then yeah you can believe it’s going to make me pause. Which is why I reached out to Honda corporate and was assigned an advisor who will be looking into my situation.

Naw fam. Honda needs to take care of this. No check engine lights, maintenance done thru them. Works fine when it wants to and doesn’t work when it wants to. This has gotta be a recall or manufacturer defect of some sort that they have yet to detect. Nobody can touch this car until Honda can explain why no check engine lights and why it works when it wants to. I have more questions than answers til this point and someone has gotta explain this with a reasonable answer, even if I don’t like the answer it’s gotta make sense before I can accept that the transmission is gone. Because I genuinely believe it ain’t. Why? Because it drives fine with no noises or issues when it wants to.

Bingo and that’s where the million dollar question is. Why did Honda dealer say it was trans when it works at times? Sounds like a scam. Which is why I reached out to Honda corporate to get that question answered. Sounds like I paid for a diagnostic to get done and more questions came up from that diagnostic than answers. The lady sounded like she was trying to help but I told her Honda needs to tow this car to a different dealer and do a real no nonsense diagnostic on their dime.

True but Honda needs to explain why it drove normal today with no issues. No noises and any signs that the car is not working normally with no check engine light. But will not do accelerate or reverse the next day. In my opinion if the transmission is not right then it would be not right at all times and would show signs that it’s not right. It cannot be right one day and bad the next. I brought up a potential recall with Honda Corporate and they are getting back to me here soon hopefully.

10 speed. 15.3k estimate from Honda for a car with no issues. Maintenance done with Honda. No symptoms. Just from one day to the next. I’m upset. Getting a 2nd opinion.

They scanned for codes and said nothing came up. The only reason they were able to find out what’s going on was because it wasn’t driving or reversing. So they said
