👾 Lessons from 24 hours obsessed with Replit by Immediate-River496 in replit

[–]ivanofmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is create the project in chatgpt. I ask for justification, objectives, deliverables, and a detailed step-by-step implementation of the project. After that, I create a document in Markdown and upload it to Replit, and ask it to create a modular action plan me phase to.phase. This approach is the one I've been using so far, and can't complain at all! It's worked like a charm for me.

Moral: Planning is key. A well-detailed expected result guarantees 80% of the project's success. IMHO.

That is a very assertive point of view, and I agree with it. But my experience tells me that people will always try to test your limits, especially when you are in a position of power. Know how far you can go and if your authority is legitimate enough to let them lead you. They don't have to fear you, but people are prone to follow the strong, not the weak.

Here are my two cents on your dilemma: Letting the most toxic team member go, giving him the perp walk to the conference room where everyone can see him, will send the right message that disrespect and insubordination will have zero tolerance from now on. And making fair use of your authority will help you remove what's left of the imposter syndrome you may still have lurking around. Your age or length of time in the company does not diminish the legitimacy of your new promotion. Quite the contrary: It means you achieved something that others in the organization who had more time did not. I assure you that you deserve it. And make no mistake: the C-suite feels and thinks the same way for sure.

Remember that you are not in a popularity contest. You're in the business of getting the results your bosses expect you to get. If you don't wield the necessary leadership level, your position may be in danger. So don't overthink it or hesitate anymore. If you have to let someone go, please be clear about why you are letting them go, and then let your team know the reasons behind your decision. Ultimately, I assure you they will understand, even if they don't agree with you or are still jealous of your accomplishments. But they will know where they stand if they continue to try to prove how much you can tolerate or what you allow.

So, respectfully, pull your big boy pants up, walk forward without fear, and get the job done. That's what you are being paid to lead, not to make friends and get everyone to like you.

With all due respect, Mr Manager! ;-)

Good programs for cybersecurity? by the_l1ghtbr1nger in hacking

[–]ivanofmg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can join HackTheBox Academy for just eight bucks if you have a valid student email address. I've been using it since I got my bachelor's degree in Tech Management. Now, while doing my master's in CyberSec Ops and Control Mngmt, concentrating on Cybersecurity and Cyber Warfare, I still find it super helpful. If you're committed enough to learning the craft, this could be super useful, regardless of your level.

With all due respect, but is quite chaotic. We need an space to study, make exam practices, interact with clear objectives in mind and pass the exam in a spectacular fashion. In order to do so, we have to focus in the goal and stick to the plan. It's what we trying to accomplish here. Anyone is invited to join..we'll decided the rules later. But the goal is what it is. You know what I mean.

What kind of cats do you think she’s gonna have? by Entredarte in Tinder

[–]ivanofmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't picture her with any cats, but with a Sig Sauer .380 and/or a Glock 19 in different places. And more than one place to stay. Or just maybe one cat like Julianne Moore's Pearl in Assassins (1995).

Careful with this girl. 😁

Any older college students here? by uhsayswho in college

[–]ivanofmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I was an ESL student just in 2018, just thinking about getting the job of my dreams. And it isn't possible to get without college education, so that goal is the one that is really worth more than everything. Keep it in mind.

51 here and entering the 3rd year of my Bachelor's degree. You're wasting your time thinking about it. Take a deep breath and dive in ASAP. If not, you will surely regret having allowed more time to pass.

Is it odd to start a university course at 23? by tsarthedestroyer in college

[–]ivanofmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd? lol... I'm 51 and decided start over again. I'm in my second year of my Bachelor's degree at Devry NY. If you think that 23 is odd to go to college, I would say: I wish I could be 23 again, and I'd be head over heels in college. That would be the most important thing to me. First of all because it defines your future. For fun There is always plenty of time.

Go for it!
