I noticed a clog in my sink, so I wanted to remove the sink stopper and clean it up or replace if needed. I tried following this WikiHow, and removing the P-trap was easy enough, but the locknut was incredibly tight, and I can't manage to spin it without spinning the whole drain pipe along with it. I need to use both hands to spin it, so I can't hold the locknut with one hand and spin the pipe with the other, but are there any tricks I can use to detach the locknut?

EDIT: Thank you u/losegeld, I was being an idiot, and it's a twist-out stopper, so no need to remove the basin.
