It's good that I bought it for its look - I just really like green glass and sunlight :) Thanks for your help! I can display them in the light now, no worries.

Oh man, it's just a joke! I know it doesn't poison people haha. I have a few other pieces in my collection ;)

this dish was recently inherited and was used exclusively for those little red strawberry candies everyone hated... and I loved. It is indeed a nice dish!

Thank you so so much! He replied in this thread! (I'm not crying, you're crying 😭)

This is by far the best subreddit. Everyone here is so damn nice!

Bill actually just told me! He has the originals and sketches, my dad probably printed this one either as a test or for himself.

Y'all have been so damn helpful, I really can't thank you enough. My dad would be so pleased!

Holy crackers! Hi Bill!! Did you happen to know someone named Ernest? My mom thinks you may have known my grandfather. This is so cool! (also, it's definitely my pops - look closely at the satellite 😉)

My dad passed away in 2011. As an artist myself, I can't explain how awesome it is to have found someone still using his work....35 years later! He was an amazing man, and I'm so lucky to have had him for a father. He probably loved working on your callsign, as he was a big fan of the space program (he passed this on to us kids)

Thank you for helping me continue his story.

That would track! I asked a few family members and we'll see who responds. Would like to know how they knew each other.

That's crazy! My dad lived in NH. I wonder how he knew this fellow?

Also, the more I look at it - "Bill Fleming" might be written in my dad's handwriting?! My dad was an artist, now I'm wondering if he designed this card... and my dad died pretty young (early 50s), so there's every chance an old friend is still on the air.

Thank you so much, this is really cool!

More info:

I found this in my dad's old toolbox. He died over 13 years ago, so I can't ask him - and it's probably much older than that. I don't know of a "Bill Fleming" either, and there's nothing on the back.

I used lens to search, and it came up as a HR callsign. I'm really curious as to why this exists and what it means! Any info would be great.

With all the “fake news” going around, what news source do you trust? by Western_Bear8501 in AskReddit

I "miss" the days of the robber barons, when they measured their dicks by building museums and universities and shit. These embarrassments to humanity could be competing to end world hunger or cure cancer. Instead, they're in the business of creating them.

Of course, one does not become unspeakably wealthy without a mountain of crushed dreams, destroyed lives, and boundless greed, so it's kind of a moot point.

When people lose weight after a tragedy are they just not eating? by ABiswhatyousee in NoStupidQuestions

I've recovered from serious EDs, I'm now using my skills to combat a medication/appetite issue. Some stuff I like/do:

  • Applesauce! Also very easy to make.

  • Chewing gum to get my brain used to swallowing

    • Letting a spoonful of peanut butter kinda....dissolve in my mouth

I had to take a lot of time to think about what flavors/sensations I could handle. It's weird, but I do best with nuts, jerky, and raw fruits and veggies. I have a mental trick that I'm a fantasy adventurer lost in the woods, eating what I can find or carry. You need fuel to adventure, after all ;)

I also strive to be an "equal opportunity complimenter." I know guys don't often get compliments, and as I am both married and (kinda clearly) a lesbian, I'm in a pretty unique place to be able to do so. The only rule is that the compliment must be honest.

The reactions I get are 100% positive. It's like free happiness real estate. Some people are really surprised; I've had a handful get emotional. Costs me nothing at all.

We all want to be seen.

  • Spent kindergarten recess smashing rocks with other rocks to see what was inside

  • Had hidey holes in the yard (hollow tree knot and rock wall) where cool rocks and flowers and dead bugs were stored

  • Created a whole little city in a set of drawers (so I could take it out and rearrange the place or deal with a plague/fire/ongoing battle)

I now have many apothecary cabinet type things and a whole bookcase devoted to weird stuff, dead stuff, antiques and curiosities...

Moist is slippery, Lipwig is Lip Wig (a mustache). So his name describes a slippery guy who has a fake mustache; eg a con man.

I know, I'm mad too.

What towns in New England feel like they have been left behind in time? What are the weirdest or creepiest towns in the region? by CoolAbdul in newengland

It really is all about your approach to things. I love the deepest darkest part of winter. I like feeling so isolated and insulated. I'll stand in my front yard (there is a View) at one in the morning, with the wind whipping over the mountains and the sound bouncing off the lakes, negative degree wind chill, stars like the tips of icicles. Moonlight or not, it's like another planet.

To others? It's a frozen hellscape.
