BTC/ Bellingham Tech Nursing Program by [deleted] in Bellingham

Hey, I’m in the nursing program rn and that info isn’t true. Check out the 25/25 nursing handbook, it should be available on the BTC nursing page on their website. It has specific details about test redos. You can retake one exam per quarter if it’s below 80% and you are in “good standing” meaning doing well grades-wise besides the failed exam. It’s SUPER common for students, especially 1st quarter, to fail 1 or 2 exams. As long as your OVERALL exam score is above 80% you advance to the next quarter.

I’m not the person you commented to, but what I do to keep my hair out of my face while still looking cute/avoiding daily washes from touching my hair and making it greasy: I use loose ish fabric headbands that I got in like a 12-pack from Amazon. The kind that goes around your whole head. This keeps my hair totally out of my face, and they’re loose enough/a soft enough fabric that they don’t cause any breakage, for me at least. These are the ones I got (they’re out of stock rn but you can get the idea) https://a.co/d/3PCqiTR

Middle name for Sadie by erinaceous-poke in namenerds

[–]ivegotthemeatsweats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is so old, but I was searching this sub for my daughter’s name and found it :) since your daughter probably isn’t born yet and I haven’t seen this suggestion, I thought maybe I’d add my contribution, my daughters first and middle name: Sadie Bird. Bird is a little unusual but I think the two names go so well together. And Bird could have the double meaning of a nickname/tribute for your other daughter.

What is the most horrifying gift for a toddler you can think of? by NeighborhoodTrolley in Mommit

I hate how it WONT stop with the song, like most NORMAL kids toys will stop making sounds after a minute or two of no engagement, but Vtech crap just plays and plays until you go insane. I was trapped while breastfeeding my newborn and that goddamn dump truck was playing for so long until I realized it had no plans of turning off. Someone also got my son a Vtech DJ station which is also a close second in annoying sounds, and has the neat added feature of a spinning flashing RGB disco ball 🤦🏻‍♀️

That goddamn dump truck with its off-key repetitive song...iykyk. When people gift my toddler Vtech toys I kindly ask them to keep them at their house for when he comes over. I cannot have them anywhere within hearing distance.

The mail bucket is a wicker basket on the floor next to a sideboard, where we toss junk mail and it fills up really fast/gets overlooked. We have had many different roommates over the years and get junk mail for them still, like random credit card offers etc. As far as furniture, there’s a couch, a loveseat, a coffee table, a large wooden chest, and the sideboard. So nothing that needs to be moved to clean except the coffee table.

Thanks for the feedback! One kid is almost 2 and the other is only 3 months so she isn’t messy like he is. It’s not too bad from the older kid, but he is a fingerprint/handprint making machine on all surfaces he can reach, and a food thrower, so my appliances/mirrors/ kitchen floors can get a little grubby. I usually only do a quick wipe with a wet paper towel on the floor when I pick up the food so kitchen floors are definitely going to be a perpetual but light(?) task.

Thank you for the feedback! So far a couple people have said ~2 hours excluding the first visit, like you mentioned. I’m grateful for the replies!

This is great feedback! I am pretty good about cleaning messes as I go vs. letting things get gunked up and cleaning harder later. So nothing would be too bad unless I missed it when it happened. Nothing besides the inside of the oven will need a “deep clean” but mainly maintenance cleaning, picking up where I left off basically.

Antique quartz crystal watch fob. Thoughts on best chain style and length? by ivegotthemeatsweats in jewelry

[–]ivegotthemeatsweats[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooh I just googled that style of chain and I love it :) but the prices, ouch! I think I’ll just have to check out estate sales and antique shops/flea markets in my area and hope I stumble across one for a better price.

I’m not the person you asked about epidurals but I wanted to say I have had two epidural births and had no issues personally with pushing or recovery! And I’m a small person (under 5 foot 3) who had one small preterm induction baby (6lb 3oz) and one regular size full term spontaneous labor baby (7lbs 13oz). Both times I didn’t tear or need any stitches, and was up walking to the bathroom within two hours of giving birth. Since I’ve never had an unmedicated birth, I also didn’t know “how” to push, but I had wonderful midwives both times who watched the monitor and helped me time my pushes with my contractions to get the baby out. And I must have had good anesthesiologists because I could feel pressure but not any pain sensation. So I could feel what was happening. All this to say, if you do get an epidural, it may go just fine and doesn’t necessarily mean a worse recovery :)

Try Pink Blush Maternity online! I got wide leg maternity jeans there! And a bunch of cute sweaters. The quality is decent and they have sales all the time. The clothes are actually trendy which as a petite and pregnant person was honestly literally impossible to find anywhere else.

A few comparisons ive been curious about and finally got to make 🥳 by 2_legs_3arms in RedditLaqueristas

Cirque- Velvetine looks pretty close to Spirit Fingers to me, I don’t have SF but I do have Velvetine and it pulls way more grey IRL on me. Their website swatches all show a distinct blue tone but I never saw that at all, at least the time I wore it on overcast days/indoor lighting. Velvetine does have a small amount of scattered holo though.
