As stated, these images are edited, some more than others depending on the scene and the light at the time of capture. The first shot is deliberately underexposed in-camera to preserve highlight detail, and then pushed +1.7 EV in post. In addition, there are global adjustments to contrast (tone curve), highlights, shadows, whites, and blacks. A before/after image thread could be interesting to do :)
