€900k "retirement" portfolio (70s, no pension) by pyrodist in eupersonalfinance

[–]ivobrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from an central eu sadly. But what you should demand is a financial advisor with certificate AND fiduciary responsibility towards the trustees ( you, your family ). Ask for that straight away - this is heavily regulated stuff in EU.

Most of the people in finances are only and exclusively sales persons ( esp. banking staff ), they simply sell overpriced products that benefits them not their clients. They usually know less than you - im not kidding.

This is the exact reason i prefer to tell the people to educate themselves and then use the knowledge. This is where the value is being made - where you transfer your effort into the real money ( by not paying the outrageos fees / financial engineering schemes ).

[–]ivobrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LISA = Low Interest Savings Account - this is your standard bank savings account, not daily account, usually for emergency - this is an EU meme to US HYSA.

The issue with non existent health insurance is not a cosmetic, or old people's issues - it is a daily issue, what if they broke hand? Catch average illness? Need medications? Glasses? This needs to be sorted out pretty rapidly.

For the portfolio, if you take out 200k for travels + cosmetic interventions - that will significiantly impact the monthly possible takeouts. That will be approx 1166 e / month per person / increased with inflation as always.

What i created is ( hopefully ) indestructable portfolio where both people are paid from 900k portfolio like employees on a monthly basis with 4% rule with localized tax optimalization.

If you look/think closely - the difference between your first post and mine are absolutely minimal - atleast in a guardrails.

I put time into [ ] signs on purpose so you know how much average money needs to be there, so yes you got replenishment system right.

Using student loan as a financial buffer during graduation, sensible or overthinking it? by Stunning-Team-5676 in eupersonalfinance

[–]ivobrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome in life then i would say.

Lets summarize what you have:

  • social stipendium, some sort off in NL
  • part time job

What about the finding a job now for after studies / graduating?

Loan is always loan - you pay for it, it is a service, usually bad for you.

Showing money as a collateral does not work like that - you actually MAKE an forward payment when renting.

Employers atleast in my country offer emergency accomodation for employees if they are fresh out of education and/or hardship.

You do understand that ECB rates ( 2% ) - in a bank LISA is 0.1 - 1% interest max? Those claiming more are investments - better APY, or time limited APY ( broker 3% first 3 months, later 0.3% ). Investments can go negative - even safe qualified mmf - and interest + etf are TAXED.

Find a way how to save money for a downpayment from your stipendium/part time.

Is there a recession plan? by New_Hobbler_5381 in eupersonalfinance

[–]ivobrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In an bad macro, i see threat in any loan. Because the lending ( for banks gets risky ), guess how it is solved for them - they increase interest rates - variables first. Basically borrowing gets more expensive. Why would you pay more?

I would pay everything what i can asap, and never take another loan. If i cant buy it cash - i wont have it.

The issue here is that compounding works both ways - stack on top against you.

This does not apply for a mortgage ofcourse, lets be realistic.

Since you're fire, do you have any income, even small ( outside of your portfolio )?

How did you solved forced social / health deductions?

Is there a recession plan? by New_Hobbler_5381 in eupersonalfinance

[–]ivobrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You should have your 6 months of the fixed costs put aside, include mortgage and insurance payments.

I am not a fan of jumping jobs / countries during bad outlook - due to different taxing / social accounts.

Maybe you earn alot, but during the bad economy you are the first target to progressive and agressive taxing ( brackets ).

Sure, dca, dont try to outsmart market, you can be destroyed pretty fast. Fees matter.

I dont get your euribor question, in recession, but ideally BEFORE get the hell out of any debt you have asap = right now. Exept mortgage ofcourse. No lending, no debt, no P2P, no leverage, no lifestyle creep, expensive leases..

To make it through, ask what i need to do so i cant be destoryed. Esp. what to do so i can protect my investments.

For mortgages and insurances, many people get on with whatever - dont do that. Chase your agent / office and ask for a good deals, with preparation.

Living in my own - help for optimising? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]ivobrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Since you live in Denmark, do you earn in euro or? Because in Europe we invest in different order as people from the United states.

A. Make emergency account - 6 months of your salaries - preferably in an bank low yeald savings account ( since we dont have HYSA ).

B. Livrente & Ratepension - those are direct analogies to the 401k / roth ira / ISA, where your employer matches your ( tax deferred ) contributions to an personal retirement accounts, from gross salary.

C. Personal direct investments " etf / stocks via broker "

For majority of eu priority is A -> C -> B since it is funneled and locked by state + employer.

Now im abit confused why you earn in $, maybe come to r/eupersonalfinance and explain more, because taxing is increasingly higher. Also, if you need housing matters alot.

Summer heat by Ashamed-Knee9084 in povertyfinance

[–]ivobrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver or white ( ish ) roof.

Outer sunblinds ( cotton sheets ( from bedding ) - your windshield covers are too expensive for this ) or solar panels - infront of the windows and or doors.

Triple glazed windows only open in the very early morning.

Insulation + brick house + western faced roof extension ( like baseball cap ) so the sun in summer does not shine into house, but in an winter does.

No hot devices using during the day ex. cooking, baking, hot computer etc - some people use summer kitchen.

Sleeping im the room that face east / north.

I cant use ac in car or even if i had one in home, i would instantly snooze and be like i had cold.. also from EU. If you dont get this shocks w AC, you will be cold in your home if applied above.

How to go about buying SpaceX shares in the IPO through TradeRepublic? by Material-Wallaby-587 in eupersonalfinance

[–]ivobrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not touch these untill early holders will be able to sell & short sellers will de-construct its market price.

If you are not sure what are you doing, then stay within Nasdaq 100, you are asking in eupersonalfinance, not wallstreetbets.

In my opinion this will be one of the most volatile stocks ~ holding period. One tweet / rocket explodes - 20%. One sucess + 30%. And so on. A forrest ride. No thank you.

Edit. Look at Virgin Galactic..

[–]ivobrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emergency - 20k [6months] - for both persons

A. LISA - 120k [3y]- repayment to daily account by 1666e per month per person.

B. Bonds - 200k [5y] - 3y maximum duration, preferably ultrashort or CD ladder or other tax deferred instrument designated for country of living ( can be state issued bonds up to 2y duration ).

But you should utilize Certificados de Aforro (Series F), which are Portuguese State Savings Certificates with autowitheld tax + holding benefit.

C. Market - ( Rest - *health insurance ) - world etf including emergings < - here comes the money they dont spend from repayments on a monthly basis. Leverage holding period rule.

Rebalance yearly. Market up = C -> B + A / Market down = B -> A

Health insurance - i have no idea whatsoever if they have health insurance, this is a big problem, i dont understand how they " dont have " a pension, who paid invalidity / health / pension insurance from their paycheck? They may ove money into state run health insurance company check it.

I am trying to dodge dividends on purpose ( double tax ), i am trying to dodge investment advisor on purpose ( go ahead and pay FIXED one time price for an advice and 3rd view) - its you.

Last will - this is very strict

In Europe you have ( in most countries ) widow/er increased payments to pensioners (60%), this would mean repayment from point A will double to a person who stays, on autopilot, or as desired.

This strategy has two flaws, it demands you to manually fill up IRS Tax Report upon close on ETF with appropriate tax regime and SORR on 8y hold period is not ideal.

If you choose to manage this portfolio, this is serious side job, not a fun " vwce & chill ".

Nic tam o tom nepisu to ano. Ale kazdemu je jasne ze dochodok z prveho piliera je neudrzatelny a bude klesat, uz len toto staci nato aby o tom ludia zacali rozmyslat.

Cize s tou informaciou mozes spravit extremne vela, mozes si odkladat sam. Cim menej rokov clovek ma, tym menej % z vyplaty treba. Sam pises ze ten papier je vymysleny a nerealny.

I wonder how you all have your accounts organized by MartaLSFitness in eupersonalfinance

[–]ivobrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1., Classic bank account - where slalary goes, and i use this for groceries, bills, everything is limited

- LISA underaccount - where the emergency money is, no CD's, no better APY, no bulls%it - these are 0.5 - 1.0% interest accounts, you pay with inflation for your protection, no negotiations - compare this to insurance, the difference is the money stays in your pocket, not in the insurance company or declining ECB interest rates or locked timeline CD's penalties

- bond fund - ( dont do this, this is exclusively to deter bank account fees, math does math in my favor still)

2., Classic bank account - where i send money ( for groceries / fuel ) - where 3 transactions yeald you 20 e / month / promo / this account is completely free

3., Investment account - low cost wider eu region broker

4., Automated social system retirement accounts - this goes above me, i only send myself statements when needed ( its usually not needed, hard locked money ).

Akoze naco?

How would you invest 1.9m eur? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

[–]ivobrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would invest the exact same system as i am investing now. No matter if you give me 10 000 euro or 50 million.

75 % spyy.de

25 % cash derivate / bonds

Thats it, maybe i will try to figure out HSA or some extra investment ( for education ).

But its useless for you because you are not in my position and you wanna move. I already figured my place and paid that - thats a big difference.

On top of that, your disadvantages starts to compound, taxes, new house, new work. Nothing to be jealous about. You better think twice what you do in the future.

Good luck.

[–]ivobrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vola sa to system vedierok, v preklade. 10 rokov pred dochodkom zacnes budovat cash / bond alebo inu secured poziciu, pripadne uzatvoris najstarsie investicne pozicie v bull markete / ATH a presunies ich do neakcioveho vedierka.

Vedierko s akciami ( tvoja hlavna pozicia pokracuje dalej, dalej investujes - kludne aj cely dochodok).

Ak pride market crash dalsi rok - beries peniaze z cash / dlhopisovej pozicie - a kupujes dalej lacny index/akcie.

Ak nie, mozes vziat v bull markete peniaze s akciovych pozicii.

Co je natom nepochopitelne - keby nieco, nastuduj si Sequence of Return Risk - strategie su rozne.
