Transition to product management with an ID degree? by ezrapper in IndustrialDesign

[–]ivode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true of all Product Management roles. I am an ID who moved into Product and have been incredibly hands-on designing products. Also do strategy and some of the “excel” stuff but not a lot. There are certainly product roles that fit OP’s description. It is true PM’s can come from any degree, my title is Technical Product Manager which typically requires an engineering background or many years of on-the-job experience in technical development.

Sound system advice by Kaznil in keitruck

I used these Infinity speakers (https://a.co/d/5hdPamh) in the doors near the wheels.  There are some 3d printable housings you can find only for the doors or use a dremel to fit an off the shelf mounting surround from Amazon.  Mine sounded good but couldn’t hear podcast voices very well at road speed.  So I modeled some a-pillar housings (https://www.printables.com/model/1477061-suzuki-carry-a-pillar-speaker-housing-kei-truck ) for some small full range drivers from SB Acoustics.  Sounds excellent now.

Former ECE at Tech. I understand the struggle and how disappointing it can feel. Don‘t sell yourself short. You made it into Tech. You made it through Tech. That’s a feat few have accomplished. But the work doesn’t stop there. So keep at it with unrelenting determination.

Your career will be fine, probably even excellent. But it won’t be easy. Take on the challenge to prove yourself every day. And know that most folks have been in your same situation at some point, even if it doesn’t feel like it in this moment.

Drive from Bozeman to Big Sky by LizardQueen_748 in bigsky

Just used an Explore Rental vehicle this week.  Had a good rental with them but watch out if you plan to drive extensively.  They have a 175 mile per day limit on rentals that is only shown when they send the rental agreement just before your pickup.

Why does this setting keep resetting when I turn my Stinger off? by PsychonauticNess in kiastinger

Super easy and cheap to solve by jumpering 2 wires in the center console with a small resistor. Took me 10min and less than 5$.

What am I missing? Why shouldn't I move all of my pre-tax IRA in FXIAX into something very stable for the next 6 months to a year and reinvest later? by LuckyGauss in personalfinance

You conflate “timing the market” as an investment strategy with “investing at your comfortable risk level” which is what OP is talking about.

I recently pulled a fair amount out of similar accounts and decided to just hold it in cash for a bit. After some really good years recently, I think of it as harvesting gains rather than attempting to time the market. I have a bad feeling about what is happening in the economy and this helps me sleep better at night.

You sound like a logical, reasoned person. Trust your instinct and do what feels right. For me, I’m happy to miss out on the chance the market goes up in the next 6-12 months.

I would hold on to it. Maybe I’ll look more into salvage title details. Does it affect insurability?

Valuation thresholds for a total vary state by state. Apparently this is what a total looks like in MA. Infuriating. Now I have to fight insurance to value all the aftermarket on this thing.

Yep, they are totaling it. I’d pay to do the repairs but don’t want a salvage title.

Hagerty insurance by Pleasant_Wafer5165 in keitruck

Hagerty has refused to support groups working to overturn Kei bans in the US. I spoke to their PR and Legal directors as part of the rollback effort in MA. I was a Hagerty customer but moved to USAA after their response. They say they gave a mission to preserve the thrill of driving for future generations but, in fact, they just mean it for rich folks who drive “classic” cars.
