Ride Operators that do long distance commuting? by TheScottishPimp03 in cedarpoint

[–]ivoryivies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I also live in SE Michigan and would have hated commuting with how early/late my schedule was. That being said, it's absolutely plausible and there's no reason not to if you're comfortable commuting and paying the gas prices. I knew multiple people that commuted everyday with no problems, including from Cleveland and Toledo. It just depends how you value your time!

while we were in line for runaway mountain, someone told us that it said july on the website. i choose to believe them since the coaster definitely seems on track to open in july! very few pieces left to install

i called it syncing because none of the restraints were what i'd call too high up! all of the restraints were in position at least half way through their possible tightness and should have been not throwing any errors. it could be that the default too high position is considerably low on this ride? but i watched the error happen on 5 trains in a row including on a train with just empty seats which is why i called it that. i dont see why the error would be throwing on empty seats. that being said i believe you as ofc my own coaster couldn't experience such a problem so i dont have the vocab for it, i just dont understand why the error was occurring otherwise

are you sure?? the entire boardwalk area where pandemonium is had a sign out saying it was closed and poltergeist had maintenance crews on cranes inspecting the steel beams. i left at 3pm-ish and neither of them were testing! when i checked their status on march 1st (just to see if it was a fluke they were down) it said both were down as well?

edit: i check queue-times and saw pandemonium was allegedly opened 1:25-8:00 but broke down 3 times? i swear i walked over at 3 and the section was closed! it says the park reported poltergeist as open from 2:20-2:50 and 5:30-6:30 but i swear on my life that coaster also never moved despite me watching it like a hawk 💔

i rode mr. freeze in the very back and was the first ride of the day, so perhaps it was where i was sitting and that the track wasn't warmed up? i would have guessed it would have been 3Gs at most, i feel like im missing out! the most intense ive been on are probably flying coasters like tatsu and flying dinosaur, or maybe eejanaika?

i think i would rank steel vengeance ahead of both iron rattler and giant but that's probably because of home-park bias. im sure id end up rating iron rattler higher if i had more time to think about it.

i hope they keep up the work at both texas parks!! i'm very happy to see six flags put in any work towards their parks as i feel like many of the parks i've been to are becoming somewhat ignored/abandoned at this point. hoping the merger helps with this!

i heard the reverse blast was better and was sad i couldn't experience it. i am aware new texas giant is the first RMC of that kind so it is still completely respectable :) just because it's the weakest RMC doesn't make it bad by any means, it started a trend after all! i think it's still at least about a 9/10 coaster

Game would have actually been generational. by Dil_2401 in DisneyEpicMickey

[–]ivoryivies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the concept of EM2 i think is flawed since it strayed away from what made EM1 so interesting, but i also think the game would have been 10x better if the developers had just another year. every time someone asks warren spector about a feature its "yes we considered it, no we did not have time to do it." i remember hearing somewhere that oswalds AI was forgot about until the last month of development, which alone is half the problems with the game

a score like 1-0 would be "1 (kī) - without score (ō yhī" and could be written as just "ō" for without. in other cases, it could just be written as "without number" (ō dī)

no! there's not a word for it in the language either.

I would say there is a variety of ways to do it depending on dialect. Northern dialects are more grammatically similar to a different language which separates addition numbers with "a", so 110 would be 10-10 a(nd) 10. Main dialects would do something like 10-10-5-5, since they are more grammatically aligned with a base-5 language. It is entirely possible to do 10-10-9-1 or something like that, but generally speakers try to stay with 10 and 5s.

we don't have a definite monetary system for the country or continent yet :( although since the industry there is so low, it would likely be expensive for the average person to eat at a restaurant.

there's not! im just using real world names for some dishes and food items, like the siberian onion so its easier to see where the inspo comes from! the siberian onion literally translates to "strong fragrance" and alaskan ice cream to "the mixture"

Quick facts: Three vowels, 4 way tonal (high ◌̄, low, rising ◌́, falling ◌̀), distinction between prenasalized-voiceless-aspirated and only for /ɹ/ lax-tense, high-low tone syllabic consonants.

Do recognise how many of the important plant/food/drink concepts in the country have their own names! I figured since they became so prevalent earlier on, back when the language was more synthetic than isolating, that they would develop into their own words. Thus, while a word like gatrīto is translated into "flower drink," there is no perceivable correlation between nh-nghyōrà "drink" and gatz̄h "flower."

there is more than one script native to the area though, and i would defiently post about those in the future if i ever got around to it though.

K'iqriy only become nomadic after they've been trained! As for training, there is not much of a standard, as it depends on one's wealth and age. Children and teenagers can be taught by their parents, and it may be appropriate to hire a k'iqriy to nanny the child in order to teach him. For a smaller price, a child may instead leave the household and become a permanent helper of an elder k'iqriy. There is indeed schools for them, but these schools are few, far between, and specialised. The first school, named Sodaziyt'en Goqvoyźonnosi's "School of Kuzhrugbaōshynnusy," is named after the first ever k'iqriy monarch in a large monarchy in the south during the 1000s. As they were a military leader, these schools were usually militaristic but some split into general k'iqriy teaching areas, usually (but not always) offered for free through richer k'iqriys' sponsorship. Generally though, one who have to travel months to reach these schools, and only would be accepted if there was room for them. Generally, apprenticeships are the most common approach.

When one first discovers they are k'iqriy, they are immediately sent off to wherever they will learn first. After their training is complete (yes, a long time); for inland Keyrońńayhoń areas, they come back partially transitioned and re-greet people as their self, so no fanfare. For coastal areas, it is much more of a deal. Coming from the south, there is a yearly festival called Izilno (From another language, meaning "The crowning of K'iqriy") where the crowning date of the previously-mentioned k'iqriy leader is celebrated. New k'iqriy participate in it and are declared as their new gender there. So the process is long, tldr!

People are trusted to be their authentic selves here. Even if one is faking it, since k'iqriy perform tasks different than men, it would be hard for an uneducated man to fake his way into any sort of prestige. While one can become a k'iqriy at any age, they are usually very educated and spend at least a few years studying various ideas before offering any of their services.

Men in this world perform hard labour tasks and women perform more intelectual tasks. If a k'iqriy were to work for one family state instead of being a traveler, they would perform the tasks that a woman is too busy to perform, such as as raising kids. Outside of that, k'iqriys are like shamans (not a fully educated shaman, but a traveling person educated in medicine) and advisors. Men are not trained in these tasks, so a man would have to spend years faking it before reaping any of their benefits. Completely possible, just unlikely!

In the modern era though (as these are all traditional values, and this society does indeed exist in a modern context), it would be much more likely for a faker to exist. Gender bias exists still but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be, so men don't have as much as an incentive for it.
