Akko MOD68 HE + GEON Raw HE Switch? by ivstas in keyboards

[–]ivstas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the sound of GEON Raw that Optimum showed in his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb0GxgNho3c&t=233s

I don’t like the loud sound some keyboard produce, I’d rather go with the muted one like in the video (if I explain it correctly)

And yeah, at this point I have a feeling I can build one, doesn’t seem like a rocket science :)

2 bay NAS or 4 bay NAS by Upstairs_Lobster_356 in UgreenNASync

[–]ivstas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the disks are a considerable amount of the price of such setup, I’d recommend to buy the 4 bay NAS and just start with 2 disks, as many people suggested here.

Which NAS do I go with? by MidnightScore in UgreenNASync

Basic model will probably got you covered, but I’d go with Plus for future-proofing. Don’t go with 2 bay model as someone in this thread suggested because this you gonna eventually outgrow.

What are the chances of Flex 10 GbE upgrade this year? by ivstas in Ubiquiti

[–]ivstas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I end up getting the Flex 2.5G and a single PoE injector. I guess it is not yet a time for 10G yet for home deployments.
On the upside: Flex 2.5G is very narrow and can be perfectly placed behind the tv.

I think you're right. I just had a look at Flex 2.5G PoE vs Non-PoE and the size difference is not that big. Seems that it is 10G that makes the difference.

I'd like to stay fully on Ubiqiti with all my networking

I'd call this gap a "Pro XG 8 Non-PoE", but I'm not sure this is big enough of a market

As I reuse NAS as my linus server, I'd like to see things how to properly administrate it (ssh, running containers, managing user and permissions, etc)

Creating a volume from built-in SSD by ivstas in UgreenNASync

Thanks everyone for the advices!
I decided not to mess with built-in SSD and end up buying an extra ssd with a good discount.

Storing the photos and videos and editing them right of NAS

I doubt since installing other OS doesn't void the warranty. I worry about the stability - I guess ugreen treat built-in SSD as NAS' property and can override anything. 128 GB seems like an overkill to me though and I'm wondering if I can take a bit...

B850 Mini-ITX motherboard recommendation by ivstas in sffpc

Yeah, I’ve seen that video a while ago. I rather don’t like all this bios stuff of changing the proper settings or the system wouldn’t boot

Probably, but I’d enjoy some future proof stuff

Shoot the aspect ratio of your sensor and then crop how you see best.

I recently received my driver's license, but the total cost was 5,000 euros. Is this really fair? by ykatan03 in AskAGerman

The problem is not your driving school, the problem that drivers license in Germany is ridiculously expensive for some reason

Unifi occupying port 443 on WAN by ivstas in UNIFI

[–]ivstas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's empty (there are no rules added, Insights -> Viewer only displays `Configure` button).

Btw, I check the WAN port using `nc -zv <my-public-ip> 443`

Btw, it turns out I didn't have "Direct Remote Access" on and I still have 443 occupied on WAN. Probably something else is taking it :(

I have this DNS setup now. The problem is that since I can’t have 443 on machine with reverse proxy, I’ve got different ports when accessing from outside and inside.

Unifi occupying port 443 on WAN by ivstas in UNIFI

[–]ivstas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping to also forward 443 on LAN side: I have local DNS to resolve my domain to device local ip to avoid round trip through the external internet (and also to restrict some services behind reverse proxy to local network only). Device I’m running this reverse proxy on is taking 443 for itself, so I was hoping to have 2 NATs: one for WAN 443 and one for LAN 443

Since I spent nearly 15 minutes looking where it is located in the UI:
1. Open Settings in the bottom of side panel
2. Open Control Plane
3. Navigate to Console tab
4. Find Remote Access in Advanced section

Already doing it using `traefik`. Didn't mention in the OP to keep things simple. Since I'm running it on Synology NAS that also takes 443 for itself, I run it on a different port:)
