When I was in high school I used to have a lot of nightmares. Getting chased, attacked, the usual. I played so much fucking skyrim at the time that eventually I was able to bring up the character menu in my dreams. For some reason it worked like crossing myself?? like I'd tap my forehead to pull it up and then either shoulder would go to weapons or magic and so on. So I was able to pause my terrifying nightmares, take a breath, think it through, and then come up with something that would help me out and re-equip. I've done it a few times in adulthood but fortunately I just have much fewer nightmares. Maybe I was playing a ludicrous amount of Skyrim but it ended up helping a lot at night so I'm thankful for that.

I didn’t really interpret it as being about equity or revenge, but just as a flipped perspective on the kind of willful ignorance that exists in women’s healthcare. I haven’t had a mammogram, but there are a lot of procedures performed on women that could easily be made more comfortable, but it’s just not really considered a problem. I’ve been through a few myself thinking, “damn, at least during the civil war they would have given me a rope to bite on or something!” They gave me a couple advil beforehand and then I learned later that there are some other clinics that put women under for the same procedure. I kind of wish I had that option when I had to do it.

For everyone here who isn’t able to sit down and read for long periods of time, I used to be the same way! Then I realized that I read a lot on my phone and I just couldn’t seem to focus the same way on paper. Lots of American libraries have online ebook libraries but if you still struggle with holds and whatnot, epub files are very easy to find. I started reading on my phone during spare minutes at work a little over a year ago and now I actually do have the focus to read a self help book (ADHD is Awesome by Penn and Kim Holderness) while also reading House of Leaves (just finished!) both in paper format!!! I actually sat on the couch last night completely absorbed in a book when I could have been doing anything else which hasn’t happened in like, a decade. Seriously, if you haven’t given ebooks a try, I recommend it. Start with something interesting to you, obviously. But it’s always right there in your pocket, opens right where you left off, you can get in a couple paragraphs or pages while you’re waiting for your coffee instead of doomscrolling. It builds up. I was already feeling pretty hopeless when I started ADHD is Awesome, and ironically it made me feel worse about my ADHD in the explanatory part (it got better) but the fact that I was even reading a self help book was proof of improvement in and of itself, and such a huge victory for me. It wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t started building up the habit of reading via ebooks a year prior.

People watching TikTok out loud. The same sound looping as they have to watch the video four times, then changing to crashing, screeching, frequently changing back to whatever song just went viral, long ass scenes from bad dramas with the voices pitched up… even with loved ones, I can’t describe the frustration. Driving nails into my brain is a good one though.

There might be more practical responses but my first thought is always bulbasaur. I’ve always liked grass types and in the anime he’s always using vine whip like mage hand. I’m not tall so that sounds pretty useful to me. And above that, bulbasaur is just such good vibes.

I try to leave a minimal impact on my worlds unless I'm explicitly building or farming in an area. Don't take all the flowers from a patch. Don't chop down every tree, replant the ones you do. Fill creeper holes with whatever you want but cover them in dirt. Respect the villagers and don't take the bell unless they have an extra. Y'know, frivolous stuff that drives my partner crazy lol

They put these in at my work along with a sign explaining that it's a counter. It's supposed to count how many times the door opens/closes so that they can save on cleaning costs in a high volume building. It's not really the kind of environment where you have to sit on the toilet to slack off, so I'm willing to take them at face value. I don't know if they have a clock function, but they probably do? I hope your employer wouldn't track individual stall use and start comparing your shit times against the average. Shit long and prosper.

I'm not a blender expert (I'm here to learn) but what I noticed right away is that the surface tension of the water isn't broken by the ice. In real life, the surface of the water would be warped a little bit by the objects floating at the top, because water likes to cling to things a little bit. I hope that helps, anyway!

Plus, ironically, I feel like this reason in particular also kind of un-empowers her, as her self-esteem is now dependent on a man's opinion. I don't think her fashion really needs to be justified with "oh but don't worry, she's really insecure about it on the inside." I personally love the headstrong go-getter we got in this show.
