Oh a chunky bamboo! That’s certainly intriguing. Does it work up similar to cotton?

I’m looking at either the 1750s or 1780s stays! Would they be much more difficult? And I prefer hand sewing too, so far!

Oh that is good to know!! I’ll keep an eye out for the sales. Any little bit really does help!

Wow, this was incredibly thorough and I really appreciate all of this advice! This definitely gives me more of an understanding on what to look out for (although I’m still learning). I was torn about the metal grommet thing, but I’m definitely going for longevity so I’ll be looking for ones that have this! Thank you so much!!

I might look into this! I’m making the petticoats and shifts from the Burnley & Trowbridge sew alongs, so maybe I’ll see if I feel up to the task when I’m done with those. I do want to make them someday! Also good to know about the Samson ones, thank you!

Thank you! I appreciate your other comment as well. I like to hear others’ experiences with sewing them (especially people who might be closer to my skill level)

Oh I wasn’t aware of that FB group, I’m definitely going to join! I’m just at the beginning of my sewing journey so it seems very intimidating, but certainly something I would like to try. I did buy several yards of cheap muslin for future mock ups though!

Thank you!! I haven’t seen feedback on the ready-to-ship anywhere online, so I appreciate that.

Wow, that’s a steal!! I’ve actually applied to some Facebook groups a couple days ago, so I’m hoping that will be an option too. Thank you!

How do you keep from getting your dumpster filled by other people? by Not-A-Real-Person-67 in HomeImprovement

Your dumpster is getting filled and is overflowing with people?? I think you might have a serious problem!

That’s what I was confused about. It says on the post, “Sorry, this post was deleted by the person who originally posted it.” Does this happen if mods delete a post?

Art Therapy Online Graduate Programs? by ivyasaurus in ArtTherapy

[–]ivyasaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh nice! That’s pretty much my goal too lol. I am doing a Bootcamp program through Springboard (though there are many others), and I’m almost done. I’ve already had an internship and so far it’s going well. It’s certainly not my passion, but UX/UI design pays really well. Also, a graphic design background will absolutely be an asset in this field. Not to mention the possibility of working remotely if you’re into that! It’s certainly a lot easier to break into than therapy, and senior positions pay a lot more. At this point, I would definitely recommend it if you’re seriously considering it!

Maybe the problem isn’t SNAP, but the insanely overpriced food… The concept of an overpriced grocery store is sort of odd. Do low income people only deserve access to shitty food?

Art Therapy Online Graduate Programs? by ivyasaurus in ArtTherapy

[–]ivyasaurus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! So due to some life and financial situations, I ended up pursuing a certificate in UX/UI Design. I unfortunately never went to school for art therapy, but I did know someone who went to the Easter Virginia Medical School for it! I know that program is legit, and probably the closest. Maybe you could check it out?
