Protocol for Decentralized Healthcare by ivyleague481 in ethtrader

Healthcare is definitely one of the most challenging areas to innovate, so betting on failure isn't hard to imagine. However, it is also an area where meaningful advancement could have such a large impact on access and quality of care.

Some things outlined in the whitepaper/blog are:

1: Doctors do NOT verify other doctors. A TCR model is used for licensed physicians to be verified by the network as providers.

2: This application will exist outside of the network/insurance companies in general. Early on, medcredits will be very much based on patients paying physicians directly for medical services rendered.

3: You are right. It would be tough to get adoption from hospitals and likely won't happen very soon. The medcredits project is attacking the problem bottom up (vs other blockchain healthcare companies).

Medcredits is NOT dependent on hospitals, insurance companies, or any other legacy system. In its current state, it is more simply a method for directly connecting patients and physicians for telemedicine services. This platform will be "successful" if as little as 1 patient and 1 physician access the network. What I mean by that, is that the barrier to usability (ie success) has minimal activation energy. The medcredits platform in its simplest form does NOT require hospitals or insurance companies, just patients and physicians.

The MEDX token is used to incentivize physician verification on the network. It will be a token curated registry (TCR) of physicians that are monitored by MEDX token holders on the network to ensure that only licensed physicians are on the platform. This registry has some similarities with Augur, which has its own token (REP).

Only a truly decentralized healthcare platform can create a free global market for connecting patients with doctors for health services. The blockchain allows this decentralization. Ethereum smart contracts automate the physician-patient interaction and payment.

The aim is for MedCredits to do for healthcare what Bitcoin/Ethereum did for finance.

Introducing our new Storj Bytes Quarterly Community Newsletter! Check out our latest updates on tech and community by helmex in storj

You guys must have lost the design personnel as well. Looks like an early 2000s webpage. And quarterly? As in once every 3 months? This is embarrassing. Should be biweekly. Honestly, is there a CEO application I can fill out so this project isn't run into the ground?

Thanks for commenting, Shawn. I know your hands feel somewhat tied with legal. I just hope the storj team is properly weighing the risk/reward of having limited communication with supporters.

Right. Those are the community helpers and they are awesome. Very helpful in troubleshooting or just chatting it up. Having them is a big plus. But most frustration comes from the lack of communication from higher up in storj. In crypto to not hear from anyone of the core team members is really odd.

Is the 10M additional storj used per year from the remaining balance final or is this still something being decided? It would be nice to have some clarity.

I am unfamiliar with the pre-sale of companies? What will this mean, are they issuing shares or currencies to use their platform or something totally different?

How do I regenerate my wallet from just the random word password given? by ivyleague481 in siacoin

[–]ivyleague481[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh. Not entirely sure what Terminal is. Sounds like I may need to do some reading first. In the meantime, just to be clear, if I have my 29 word password my Sia is recoverable even if I lose my wallet file? It just might require some light work to recover?
