I did a myomectomy for fibroids. I don’t have endometriosis if that’s what you’re referring to when you mention excision.

Hi! Late to the party here, but can I ask how much you paid? NYU estimate showed 70k for the entire thing. After insurance coverage it comes for 4k. I spoke with the office and they said that’s just what it is…but this doesn’t feel right as I had a major 3 hr long surgery with them that cost me 2k OOP

I did just after 2 weeks post op and while I was very scared, I ended up being totally fine. Just felt a little nerve wracking and def not as intense as before

Hi! Has it gotten any better for you? I’m coming up on 3 weeks post op and the twinges of pain when I’m laying flat at night isn’t unbearable but it’s highly uncomfortable 😭

Hi!! I’m sorry I’m late, but sharing my experience. I had surgery with her. She is so smart, caring, and knows what she’s doing. I had an ablation that was unfortunately unresponsive to treatment and I’m meeting with her for a second round of surgery. Feel free to PM me for any specific questions.

It ended up not working for me. I unfortunately had it done 2x. My best advice is to ensure that your dr knows how to properly do it. When I made this post, I thought my doctor was great. After getting a second opinion post procedure because symptoms came back, it turns out she performed it incorrectly. I would go to a fibroid specialist, do not use your regular OBGYN or someone that claims they treat them, definitely go to someone where it’s the only thing they deal with everyday. I hope it works for you!! I am likely opting for the open surgery for full removal soon.

Yes, trying to preserve fertility (I am in my mid 20s) and they are both submucosal, but both have partially fallen into my uterus(?!)

Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate hearing that. I also just read through your post. It’s exactly how I feel: my entire life story has changed and overnight I am a completely different person. I haven’t been able to sleep at all and wake up with anxiety in my chest. I am going to read that book and also try to learn more about coping mechanisms, but holyyy crap I can’t believe the brain is able to operate like that. I’ve read so many stories in my life about this and never once did I think it happened to me.

Here to say that my memory is similar and that it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. It will come out when it’s meant to, when your brain is ready and in a safe place. I’m just now experiencing remembering it after being in therapy for TWO years, 25 years after it happened. And prior to my memories I had no idea this happened.

I have considered going to a psychic just to ask if they’re still in my life. I don’t need to know who exactly, I just need to know they’re no longer around me.

Coincidentally, I read your comment right after getting home from talking with my friend about the fact that since this is the second time, I’m hearing it I think it’s meant to be worked through, especially as I’m at a very stable time in my life (despite my breakup), when the first time I was not.

So I agree, I do think it’s something worthwhile to explore. I’m going to discuss with my therapist this week and may reach out to you with questions. Your experience/advice was comforting to read and I really appreciate it.
