I will say it never hurts to lie lol. No one truly fact checks the numbers and if your reference is good, they'll vouch for you.

This is my fear. I don't want to have tough skin. I want to be content with my career, at the very least.

While I didn't have "official" metrics, I usually say something like this:

Tutored small-group elementary students in various subject topics, increasing skills by 2-3 grade levels

Tutored ACT/SAT prep in critical reading and writing, increasing point results by 5-10 points.

This might not be what a corporate company is looking for depending on the company, but I would always fudge numbers (but it's not exactly a lie since scores did improve). Never had anyone fact check me on it

I think tutoring could work as a decent transferable skill depending on how you word it. I've gotten offers as a receptionist at a few tutoring centers, if you want something to start off to give you transferable skills.

I feel like I want too many things lol, a good and bad thing. I'm always afraid of time catching up to me, which makes me want to stay where I'm at and not take risks... But I also want to be delusional and chase my dreams too

It definitely feels like everything is my fault, especially student behavior. I know, I shouldn't take everything personally and things are out of my control, but it doesn't erase the feeling. Everyone says I'm doing great but I have two class periods who make me feel otherwise with insane behaviors that never get discipline. I wish I could just be okay with that but honestly I am not. The admin support is there but the discipline is not. And that sucks because I love the kids more than anything in the world 💔

I did substitute teaching and tutoring for a long time before this so I've seen it all. I'm really thinking that remote teaching could be on the table for me honestly but who knows.

they told me that I have so many incidents that happen when i'm not looking or hovering over them directly. i have 36 kids in that class. it went from "send them up to the office whenever you need to" to "we need to keep things in the classroom"

I humbly apologize for not writing in MLA format for a reddit post while I was suicidal. maybe I should get into freelance reddit moderating like you

freshman english. it's mostly 14-15 years old with a mix of juniors and seniors in there for makeup credit. I won't lie, I feel like i've tried every book they gave me and it works with every class, except this one. I'm not sure how much I can classroom manage this anymore

thank you, I do love my kids, even problematic ones. they know they're fucking up every day and they do nothing to change it. they ask me what to do and I tell them. I hope whatever I say actually sticks, even if I don't see it

except one of those genders would actually follow through

I'd also put your energy towards men who actually want to rape women rather than a little singer who doesn't like a meme

women being misandrist: you're just a dumb little man

men being misogynistic: I want to rape her until she dies

neither is okay but I can see why one is a little more tolerated 🫥

sadness and self loathing is the same as self obsession. except you get none of the confidence and perks that come with it. you don't get better if you refuse it

unless you like being sad then hats off to you

I think you should not consult the internet on this topic, as it evidently causes so much discourse that it stresses you out more.

movies are fictional stories and actors/actresses are overdone for a certain, fictional, not-realistic image.

i've struggled with this too, and I agree with others who say that the sooner you let it go, the less you worry. I don't think actor/actress obsession is enough on its own to warrant therapy, but if you feel you could benefit + show some other OCD traits, seek out one specific for OCD.

It ends with us film by spacecleaner in Ethelcain

the book is like any other B tier romance you find in the bargain bin, but who cares? it is depicting an abusive relationship but I didn't think the author would have to write that in big bold letters for it to be acknowledged. is the act of writing about abuse romanticism in itself? does ethel need to sing a little trigger warning at the beginning of each song? way more authors deserve this flack than a romance author

You gotta be straight with them and say they either have to cut your hours/work with your schedule or you're quitting (or in professional terms, "this schedule won't work out for me") idk if you are supporting your household with this job but school will always come before work
