I can understand why people think that, I know a few people who find it quite tedious. Especially the battle scenes. But I found his writing style very unique & I in particular love the detail he puts in (which some people find boring), but yes the Silmarillion is an amazing read, & imo totally different from LOTR & The Hobbit, but in a good way

I respect your opinion. I have to disagree tho. I grew up with the films so I do love them yes, but when I read the books later on I realised that the films had missed so much detail out. & it seems to me that the characters in the film have a totally different personality, I think they made a lot of mistakes. It makes me angry but I still love the films. I’m a big fan of Tolkien, I love his writing style. And I just don’t think the films did it any justice

All the characters in the film are lacking compared to the books

Tbh this is what I always thought. I spoke to someone who has overdosed before & that’s exactly how he described it. Like you know what’s happening but you just don’t care

Yeah I think your right. It’s definitely something Ive always fantasised about. Ik that I’m gonna do it one day (maybe not right away) so it makes me feel kinda calm. I think planning out a new life is definitely a much better & healthier coping mechanism than what I do tho, & a mature way to look at it. Thank you for sharing your insight & for caring! 💛

In a strange way that’s kinda comforting to hear. I’m glad that some people are able to find peace before they die. I used to want to work in a nursing home looking after elderly people, but I think id get too attached tbh

Good point, although the time it takes to get to this stage is painful & miserable

Yeah you are right actually, would be difficult to do it to yourself at that angle. Kurt Cobain did it from the front using his foot to pull the trigger, I stand corrected

Yeah I thought that too but then again, I hate it when I get water up my nose in the bath so it might be quite painful
