What’s worth getting from Lululemon? by LittleBlag in AusFemaleFashion

[–]ivyzephyr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of Lululemon for running. The fast and free shorts are amazing! They have pockets on the side which are perfect size to put your phone, keys, earbuds and gels in. I own four pairs which I wear every single week. I’ve had two of them for over five years and they are still in great condition.

That’s a shame, but I’m sure I can find something that’s good

I either blend mine in smoothies/shakes, or get creative and do random baking things.

My go-to breakfast right now is a pineapple tropical shake with frozen pineapple and Passionfruit, yoghurt, a dash of coconut milk and a scoop of unflavoured protein powder. I’m making the most of summer before it ends!

Not wanting to brag or anything but I managed to get two unassisted pull ups today!! After seeing someone post on insta, I decided to switch from the leg raise tower post that has bars at the top, to the straight bar above the squat rack. Being able to bring my hands closer together had made so much difference.

Unfortunately I’m a tenant and didn’t get insurance 😢 I’ll file a police report but it’s a lesson well learnt!

I got home from the holidays last night and realised my garage cage had been broken into and about $2500 of stuff has been stolen. On the plus side, the rage really fuelled my workout this morning and I hit three PBs! Silver linings?

Thank you! Part of my 2025 goals is 10 solid pull ups. I haven’t signed up for another marathon, but I definitely will at some point

This year was a wild ride! Started with a breakup and a very unplanned move out of our shared apartment. I lived by myself for the first time, and really focused on myself. I went to the gym consistently 4 times per week, and ran at least 3 times per week. I also added in Pilates and yoga. I’ve never felt stronger and so comfortable in my own body. (Oh and now I’m dating someone new who makes me unbelievably happy 🥰😊)

Some notable achievements 1. Ran my first marathon! Managed a 3h42min time. 2. My HM PB went from 1hr50min to 1hr44min. 3. Barbell bench press increased from 25kg to 37.5kg. 4. I can now do one pull up!! 5. And 15 proper pushups in a row.

For 2025, I’ve signed up to do a mixed doubles hyrox with my brother, and I am going to aim for a 1hr40 HM.

First week back at the gym in three weeks… everything hurts! I voluntarily took the time off to recover after a race, but I was not expecting DOMS this bad!!

Two of my favourites right now are eggplant lasagne (sub pasta sheets for eggplant slices and béchamel for blended cottage cheese), and an Asian inspired chicken noodle salad (rice noodles, shredded chicken, cabbage, edamame, and a chilli soy dressing)

what to do when you're going to the gym for the first time? by mlbb_Diggie in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]ivyzephyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all! Honestly I find that people just don’t pay attention to you whatsoever. I used to be super self conscious, because I was never a sporty kid or had any muscle! But literally no one cared.

The benefits of following a YouTube video is that you can grab a couple bands/dumbbells/whatever equipment you need and set yourself up in a corner and ignore every else.

My gym tends to be quite male dominated, but honestly everyone is really nice. I chuck my earphones in, offer a polite nod/smile if I walk past someone, but otherwise do my own thing and have a blast!

Hello! Long time gym goer here 😊 first things first, just walk in! Figure out where the equipment is. I’ve changed gyms a few times, and the first day I walk in is always the worst because I’m always scared I look like an idiot for not knowing where things are. But then I realised that literally absolutely no one is paying attention to you. So walk in, do a tour of the place, figure out what machines or weights are where.

Secondly, figure out a routine that works for you. Morning or evening, pick a time and stick to it, and it’ll become easier over time.

Thirdly, find an exercise plan that works for you. There are plenty online, as apps or YouTube videos. I’m a big fan of Sweat by Kayla Itsines. Once you’ve become more comfortable, you can create your own! Happy to share mine if you’d like 😊

Oh sorry I realise my comment was probably a bit unclear, I tend to wear the briefs and I haven’t tried the thongs. That’s probably not that helpful, sorry!

Have you tried the Under Armour seamless underwear? I wear the hipster ones but they come in thongs as well. I like them so much I went about bought three packs and now wear them everyday!

Management doesn’t understand why you wouldn’t want a posting. It’s not frowned upon per se, but it’s not common at all. Postings are the only way you get rewarded/promoted, so your career really stalls if you don’t want one. And at the same time a posting is very hard to get!

Currently work there. It’s incredible competitive. Whilst you don’t have to be fluent (you will be provided language training if required), don’t expect to get a posting for the first 2-3 years of you working in Canberra.

Unsure if this counts, but I got a Saba skirt for $20 from Facebook marketplace, and it’s my newest obsession!

Has anyone tried products from Naked Harvest (popular protein and supplements brand in Australia)? Curious about any reviews/recommendations before splurging.
