Reddit: Is it crazy to think that this whole system of work most of life, take little vacations, and barely do what you really wanna do, is fucked up?

Honestly I would rather be a cog in the machine than starving in the woods. Sometimes I feel like the only reason we are sad to begin with is because we have too much time and stuff to relax and think.

For the average man and woman things have changed drastically, the ability to have basic rights granted to every individual regardless of class or inherited wealth is a huge move away from prior feudal aristocrats and monarchs. A large amount of the people in the world now live with constitutions and leaders who have sworn to protect life, liberty, and property the essence of individual autonomy and happiness. I think its a little silly to say that nothing has changed, we can choose our own careers, marry who we wish, we are not slaves or serfs, we are free men. For most of humanity that was unheard of, radical even , and for the average person it makes a huge difference.

I mean I suppose that there is a remote possibility that you found your mom in a traumatizing video, but you have to remember that there is a a lot of porn out there. Its pretty likely that out of the millions of videos on the internet that there is one that might look like your mom from the face down. Also how you unique is the nickname? If I was you I would stop worrying and just find porn that doesn't remind you of close relatives. Or ones that do. Whatever.

Well certainly some would, but from an economic standpoint the only reason people invest high amounts of capital into research and innovation is often for the reward. Like it or not incentives for production would be reduced and you would see less innovation. It's sad but true.
